got the driver side inner rocker pnl welded in,and cab support...hung the door to align the outter rocker only to descover the front bottom of the door hit the inner rocker, near the front curve of the angle of the rocker....after wondering why it was doing that and some measuring, i descovered that the ' curve' wasnt the same contour as the bottom of the door, and it also tapered up where i cut it.. futher adding to why it interferred with the door...so i cut out the angle of the rocker and made it so it didnt taper up, and re shaped the curve to match the bottom of the door.....

yes thats a hole, it was corroded and i blew a hole right through it...im gonna blast the inside of the cab to get the tar off the floor so i can better inspect the floor...but that hole will be fixed and all the corroded and thin metal will be too..

got some more work to report...

Is that the outer cab floor extentsion you are using for the inner rocker replacement? LMC part 38-7904 and 38-7905 for $99.95 each. Great looking progress thus far, you give inspiration to us all, even to those that have never done this type of repair before. |

quick update as to this weekend progress... located the A/C bulkhead under the pass fender in the cab cowl area, so it'll be all hidden....after i got it located i started to apply rust inhibitor (runs will be smoothed after it dries), both inside and out.. also here is the cab corner cut off and the rust inhibitor applied...

im over due for an update, so here it goes.....

So what did u make the fish plates out of? Any idea where we gonna mount the air tank at? Can u explain to me what the measurement in the pict. is supposed to me telling me??? pardon the ignorance... Does the airride set up seem like pretty good quality stuff??? Hope it was worth the $$$ ? |

powerwashed the frame to keep my hands and the new parts from getting dirty during mock-up.. tore-off the front and rear suspension and got the bags (all 4 corners) installed, drilled the bag mounting plates for the front, installed the lower tubular control arms, located and drilled the shock mounts, and finally assembled it all for mock-up (less the muscle-bar sway bar)

how did those rear plates and cups work, you think the rear end will still get just as low as it would it you bolted it in place of original spring... and was is a pain to drill the frame?
Also, on a sour note.. you heard anything on your truck, i've gotta go get mine one of these weekends, wish it was closer!! |

grimss, i have no idea what greens those are.... might ask 71hulk....

what shocks are those? I've been thinking of some QA1 shocks for mine, but haven't really looked/measured enough to know which ones to get. Did the frame bracket come with the kit too?
