Thank you very much! I don't get very many compliments on it in the state that it's been in since I got it. It's the only thing that I seem to always hang on to.

TOM,

I checked out your truck and I'm really impressed.

Could you expand on the bear claw latch project?

How do you lock the doors now?

What type of inner door handle assembly is used?

Thanks

has anybody ever seen a task force crew cab?

i know they didn't make one, but i have been having thoughts on making a crew cab short bed truck with maybe a diesel engine. i need a tow rig, so i thought that since i am building a truck, maybe i should build myself the tow rig that i want (instead of buying a late model one, that i can't afford now anyway). i have two cabs, a good short bed, and an idea on how to build the frame out of 2"x6" steel tubing....i just don't know if i want to do a total direction change of my project....

Re: Calling all 55-59's

NORCAL55, Thanks and sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The doors will will be opend (outside the cab) either by pulling the emergency wire that I will run from the Latch down thru the botom of the cab right behind the door or by remote actuated solenoids. The doors will not have any knobs to open the doors. From inside the cab, the doors will be able to be open by reaching behind the door frame and manually pulling the lever open the doors or by remote actuated solenoids.

I hope I have answered your questions. If not, please let me know.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply, I'm researching ways to modernize the door hardware on my 55. Every little bit helps.

Thanks

Actually, there were coachwerkes that purchased them and performed the conversion immediately after a truck came off of the production line.

58 Chevy stepside, front fenders have rotten bottom, swiss cheesed headlight buckets and minor hole at edge where bucket is welded to fender hood side. your comments on body shop doing metal refab by welding patch panel or purchase new which cost 350-400 each.
