Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
Thanks for all the compliments! The sandblaster said my wheels should be done Tuesday. Hopefully i should have them painted and back on by Friday. Then i can get the bed back on and work my way to the front.

Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
Sweet project, I'm hoping to do a raised bed floor like yours pretty soon. Keep up the good work.

Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
why did you change the factory spring perch mounts or was your truck a T/A truck? My '66 is a leaf truck and your setup is almost identical to what mine will get but hung from the factory spring perch.

Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
may i also get a length on the link bars?

Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
Nice work. I really like the floor. Are you just using the front most and the rear most cross sills to support the bed? If so, do you think it will be strong enough as is or have/are you going to add additional support? I'm planning on doing something similar on my build. Any insight would be a great help.

no, but seriously, looks awesome man! diggin the wide whites and the flake |
Re: Project "cheapskate 65"
Thanks for all the positive comments! I wasn't sure about the flaked wheels but i couldn't find any wheels with the proper offset in 15". Now that they are painted and on the truck i think it really brings out the style i was going after.
My goal is to have it complete for the Carlisle all truck nationals August 5th-7th but, that was my goal for the last 2 years! I am pretty close so hopefully we will be there this year! |
