Re: 1950 project

It does, Chevy called the 47-55 first series their Advanced Design in the advertising campaigns. 55 second to 59 were the Task Force models, sometimes abbreviated as TF here. Jim Carter Classic parts has a write up about it in the front of their catalog.

a little more progress

this weekend I finished locating and welding in the engine and trans. also cut the hole in the floor for the frame mounted master cyl and mounted the steering column. also made a cardboard mockup console just to see how everything will fit.
it will be tight with the *****in products inner fenders but it fits. now it comes out for a cam install, I am also going to base/clear the engine to match the truck

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../engine005.jpg

I dont care for the wood grain on the wheel, so I will paint it the body color.
the gas pedal is from a C5 corvette and the shifter isfrom a 2008 mustang GT

so what's the call on the tubs? a friend told me most of the clearance issues will be when one wheel is higher than the other and the top of the highest wheel rubs...

When I put the rear sway bar on it cured a lot of the tire rub on the bed sides.

I have about 1/4 inch clearance to the inner fender, I think I will use a 1/4 inch wheel spacer to give me 1/2 inch clearance. my moser axles have screw in studs so that should be ok. I had not thought about a rear sway bar but that is a good idea.

not just yet but it should not be too hard. I am going to make up my lines, also I need to reduce the pressure going to the ford rack. they make adjustable regulators, but I am exploring options on reducing the pressure at the pump outlet. I will post pics when finished

I was wondering if those rear fenders were also from verdine performance products on ebay? I have seen there products on ebay I was just wondering how is the quality? Are there fenders and dash easy to install? Your truck looks great and man am I motivated to start my project after looking at yours. Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming. Thanks.

You've done some very nice work, truck looks great! How's the paint coming? Also, did you adapt the factory harness for the motor/trans or use a custom one?? Thanks!!

thanks, I used the factory harness and had it reworked for stand alone. I am a while from the paint stage, that is one of the last steps for me. I hope to have it on the road in the early spring at the latest.

Re: 1950 project

Alright I posted my pics and boy do I have a lot of work ahead of me. How hard was it to line up your running boards to the rear fenders since they are wider? Also do you know if there is any weight difference between the steel and fiberglass body parts? I would think so but I'm not the smartest guy around. Thanks for the help and quick responses.

What is the engine cover out off? Have you figured what you going to use for the upper rad hose?

Thanks, JML55
