Looking real good. Do us a favor though and ditch the fire starter air filter as soon as you can. You don't need to loose your truck after all your hard work because of a fire.

Basically, if your engine backfires through the carb, that foam filter WILL catch fire and most likely burn at least your hood and possibly your entire truck. I had one on a camaro and had this happen...gratefully I was working on the timing so the hood was up and I was able to yank the filter off before it caused a major problem.

I was going to but it was to big and bulky. . . I may return that air cleaner since you guys said that and get a more traditional one.

would love to do the disc brake upgrade at least on the front, but all the way around would be nice, and put coils out back and also the gas tank between the frame rails.

Well, I've pulled it apart once again, This time I'm gonna swap motor mounts, and fix my shift linkage correctly, remove the rest of the 3spd. tranny crossmember, pulled it all apart in an hour yesterday evening. May put power steering on it while its easy to get to and change some shocks also. Painted the frame and front suspension this evening.

I keep wondering how many times will come apart again in the name of going back together.

Nice job on the cleanup!

hey Thanks Bill, i just hope this is the final time it is out, but it will be right now and will sit where its supposed to. Maybe it'll get back together here soon, I'm on Spring Break next week, hopefully already have the motor back in this weekend, then get the bodywork done next week.

Sometimes we have to take a step back to take two steps forward...looks like it's going to be well worth it to make it look and function better.
