Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
I just saw that these are 15X8's. What tire size are these.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
I just did a search on 69 ruck steel wheels and this came up. Looks like most of the styles can be bought here. I like the look of nyncompute's truck which are 15X8. I was wondering how a 16X8 would look being that my truck is not a 4X4 as it looks like his is.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Stockton wheel does not have a very good rep. I belong to another board that has a couple of threads on these guys. I would say pretty close to 90% of the people that have used them had horrible dealings and wouldn't use them again.
Personally Ive never used em. I wouldnt chance it. The stock steel (not ralleys, I dont consider them steelies) 8x15 6 lug wheels seem to come in waves...none out there for awhile and then all of a sudden a bunch come up for sale on the board. I have a set on one of my 4x4's and one spare set that aren't for sale. And an 8 lug set on my other 4x4. I really like the look of em. |
Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
I think you`d be alright with Stockton Wheel ordering these wheels. They are a standard design. They custom build wheels and I imagine problems can come from that.8 x 15s were mass-produced at one time,so it should be an easy order to fill.

Here is a possible source for the 15x8s from the mil blazers. 1 ton axles from the pick ups as well.

Heres my 64... I know there is a company making 17 18 19 and 20" steel wheels... Summit Racing will have them soon... They are not cheap though! 18s are around $290.00 a wheel...

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Yeah,I can`t say for sure either.I`m just thinking these could be "stock" items which could make a difference compared to "custom built".I don`t know what the complaints were, but I`ve heard what CG says, too, and it would make me hesitate.I know I wouldn`t pay any company extra money for expedited service. That`s just through money away,IMO.How do you know they are doing anything faster than normal?I can`t see paying extra for a company to do what it should do for all orders. It feels alot better to wait for a part than to pay extra and wait.I`d never set myself up for that.
Check out Pete Paulsen Wheels. Bradlito, this thread is about steelies. |

Mine will have to be 6 lug though. I like these truck up.. especially when you've got a lwb. They look ok low but I prefer the longer bed up in stance. It all depends on the truck as well too though. The first one (gold) looks awesome too in the special K post above. Right now I have 31X33" tires. I think I can get better gas mileage with one of the tires I mentioned I like.. not sure.. and not meaning to change the topic of this post. Special K, you are right about these trucks. They are coming back. Since getting mine.. seems like all the guys have brought them out. Hell, I have never seen so many early trucks now in my neighborhood. Chevy knew what they were doign when they made these dam things. I get looks all the time and my truck is not even done yet. I really wanted a Ford F100 because I primarilyused to be heavy into fords from owning a few early mustangs. My buddy told me these truck drive/ride better than any early ford truck and I had the better trucj for sure. I believe it!! Sorry for rambling guys, but I am still bitter my GIANTS lost. They really played like pussies yesterday and I almost broke my television looking at the guy I thought finally had his head out of his a$$. Yeah I was on the Eli bandwagaon. I believe Plex really hurt us. This team wasn't the same since. |

This is what i'm sitting on. The backs are the 6 lug ralies. Have a 69 rear in it. The truck is a 71 with the 69 front clip and doors. It's a mix match of wheels. At least it rolls.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Here is my truck. I don't really consider these steelies, but whatever. Apparently, they are off a newer style Dodge truck or van. But to me, they look like 8 lug Corvette Rallies.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Thanks. They do not look like 33's. I have 10.5/33. Is this a bigger tire. My tires look bigger. Tire sizes confuse the hell out of me.
|
Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Your`s may look taller due to the narrower profile.Mine are pretty short for a 33 also.Tire sizes are nominal dimensions,as opposed to actual, and vary rom manufacturer to manufacturer as well as between designs within the same company.Usually not noticable to the eye.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
I also have a set of stock 16.5 inch wheels with original hubcaps but I don't think they would look that great on my truck.
|
Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!
Can you get like a 255/55 or 265/50 tire for the 16.5?
