Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
While the cab is getting painted did a little work on my interior. I bought a two piece seat off a mid 90's lincoln (one of the few cars wide enough). First I got rid of the dead weight (all the motors). Then I fabricated my own seat base. Painted it grey, and assembled.

I also purchased grey material and foam. I plan on upholstering the door panels and roof panel, With sculptured flames. Seat looks a little dirty, just bad lighting. |
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
cool build

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
I got the door panels done.
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/427...60chevy002.jpg The bed is ready The inside is going to get Al's liner then paint. http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/947...60chevy001.jpg |
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Cool panels
you did them your self? How about a how-to? |
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
I didn't think about taking pictures while making them. First you glue a layer of 1/2" foam on entire panel. Then you cut out flames with the same foam. Glue them onto the first layer of foam. Then you glue the upholstery material over. pressing between the flames and edges. I still have to do the head liner. I'll take some pictures.

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
No work updates, but I got the tires mounted on the wheels I bought.

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Got the interior painted. I went House of colors Shimmerin white base, Pearlesent white.
The pictures don't do the paint justice. It came out nice. http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/7...60chevy006.jpg http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/4...60chevy005.jpg |
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
I did the edge coat around the windshield frame. Want to get the new windshield installed before the paint job. Gives youy a hint of the color.
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9...60chevy009.jpg Also I insulated the floor and firewall with affordable dynomat (roof patchiong). http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4903/60chevy010.jpg You can see I took off the Hurst shifter lever (would hit the seat), and modified an original type shift lever to work with the Hurst shifter. I installed a custom Tiki shift knob. I will actually shift holding the arm, Tiki is just to look old school. http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8...60chevy011.jpg |

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
I was there too when the "LOSERS" was tagged under there. That was the name of our make believe car club. Hey Jose, I got your message. I don't know of any of those brackets off-hand, but I'll keep an eye out for you...

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
I threw liner on the inside of box. I want to paint over the coating. It will help hide the 50 years oif work the truck has been through. I used Al's liner. That stuff was so easy to use. I would recomend to anyone. It pretty much shoots itself. Durability? time will tell.
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/733/60chevy015.jpg i just sprayed the inside of tailgate. Outside has smoothie cover. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/961/60chevy016.jpg I'm still trying to get it painted this week. I just keep wanting to do more and more to it. |
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
That looks good. Did you buy the Al's liner from the board vendor here that is a dealer for them?
|
Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Thanks. my brother owns a body shop just started using it. Don't know where he got it.

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Finally got the cab painted. Thing take a lot longer than planned when you start getting picky about everything. Final wet sand and clearcoat in the morning, then the bed.

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Finally got my truck back in my garage to start reassembling. I got the roof flaked out ( that was the delay). I moved my Olds into the vacant spot in my other garage (where the Cobra used to be).

Re: My 60 Chevy Shop truck build
Surpisingly It's the Hot Rod Flats copper pearl. While spraying around the winshield opening, I saw how it looked wet. I decided to throw some clear over it.
