Do you plan to undercoat the floor/cab like from the factory? I doubt it, but had to ask.

I thought back in 1972 the bottom of the cab was only painted, no undercoat, from the factory, and that it was a dealer option to undercoat.

Can anyone confirm how they came from the factory? I think it looks too darn sweet to put undercoat on it. What are your thoughts?

Well, guys, I'm finally starting to see a lot of progress. My man in Tennessee is doing such a great job. I saw the truck 2 weeks ago at his shop and knew it was getting close. Here's the latest pictures I got today. I'll post more as they come.

very nice! :metal: Yours is the first build that will resemble mine! Minus the bed - mine's wood. Nice to see the color Med. Bronze too - a color that I haven't seen in a build yet! Keep up the good work, in for the rest.

Re: Grandma's '72 Cheyenne LWB Half Ton

It's posted above--it costs a few bucks to do a truck like this. He's reasonable but you have to remember that this is a restoration shop and it takes a few bucks and a lot of time to run a restoration business. For instance, this isn't a one or two-day paint job.

Man, I'm so excited about getting this truck painted and put together after 2-1/2 years! If you read my prior posts, you'll see how frustrating it's been during that time trying to get everything together.

Many thanks to the good folks on this site who I bought much-needed parts from!

I also say Keep it... I had a similar situation back in the 70's. My dad gave me his 54 Chevy 1/2 ton. I kept it for a while and then sold it for $150. :whine: I regret to this day that I don't still have it. :waah: Good Luck with your decision.

Re: Grandma's '72 Cheyenne LWB Half Ton

I can't believe what I found, or my cousin found for me. It's the emblem of the Chevrolet dealership in little Oswego, Kansas. It was "Hoskins Chevrolet.' My cousin, Denise, was able to get in touch with one of the owner's son, and he told her "Anything for Ruby!" (My grandmother). Looking forward to the day I can install it on my 100% restored truck :)

http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/q...hoskinstag.jpg

There's a little story about this truck. My grandmother owned a barroom tavern, and the living quarters was connected to the tavern. To make a long story short, not long after she bought the truck, her tavern caught on fire and the truck was backed up to the tavern and the truck bed had to be replaced because the paint blistered off of it from the heat. So the insurance company replaced the entire bed, and the emblem wasn't put on the new one. Such a little thing, but I'm feeling pretty lucky to locate this.
