that a/c compressor and manifolds are just my mock-up ones....i used the 87 sending unit because, it was the first year for the intank pump, so it has provisions for a fuel pump....also it is a direct fit in place of the other sending unit.....the gas pedel wiring has two connections, one goes to the pedal itself, and the other goes to the PCM...

no, the A/C compressor wont be bad at all...probley 30 mins. to R&R it if needed..take a look at kalebs black truck, it is alot less cramped then that...and also with your lift, it'll be super easy:)

Very nice progress! those stainless hoses look super clean! You may have already said, but where do you buy your hardware for the hoses and connectors? Summit racing? You have a parts list put together for a swap like this? thanks

With the transmission mounted at an angle like that ,is that the manufactures suggested mount or does it matter? Or does the transmission pump push it thru. on its on anyway? Will the shift indicator be able to show Overdrive for this style motor or will we have to change the shift viewing block out? Or would you just use the 1-2 3 low gear options for the O/D? Looking good though. Can"t wait.

Just a note: So someone like me will know for future use, What Temp does that transmission cooler keep the temp. at compared to a radiator type style?

specific temp, im not sure, ill have to see once its all up and running....but i can tell you that these heat sink designed coolers were desiged to work better then the traditianal tube/finned type...

few more progress pics to post...
got a adaptor harness (first pic) made for the brake sw./ TCC control.. so its a factory (for 84) brake switch controlling everything, and its a simple plug in deal..
i also mounted, and wired in the OBD2 port, its on the driver side, and is easy to get to, yet inconspicuious..also blasted/painted the stock exhaust manifolds, and installed them...i then had a few friends over to help hang the front clip... it went well, and had it installed/bolted down in about 15 mins...once the clip was installed i put in a new battery perch (hard to see in the dark pic), but looks better then the rusty one it replaced...then determind the best place to mount the fuses/relays for the engine/trans, after going back and forth on either mounting them on the backside of the core support, or on the dr. side fender, i thought that they looked good on the fender and the fact that they are easy to get to made my decision...so i mounted them there....now came to the air intake, its a 4" chrome one that i had to 'tweak' the mount on it so it would mount to the head, rather then the battery box of a newer style truck (like it was designed to do) worked out nicely (only thing i have to do now is paint the bolt that holds it to the head)...

looking good as always. I noticed radiator and condesner missing, Is that next? Will it have a K&N on end of intake? also how is that connection for brake assembly work, I guess I trying to figure that one myself. Keep it up though good job.

the brake switch, when the brakes are applied, supply power to the brake lights, the torque converter lock up (TCC) is opposite, it always gets power except when the brakes are applied...the stock 84 brake switch, with cruise control, is a duel purpose sw. it has 2 sets of spades.. one set is normally closed, while the other set is normally open, and when the brakes are applied they are switch....so what i did was kept the brake switch plug the same, and made a adaptor harness to supply power to the other spade connectors on the brake switch....there is 2 wires on the adaptor harness one is power, and the other goes to the TCM, which controls the TCC...clear as mud?:lol:

it'll just have a coned air filter on the end, no fancey duct work;)

yea i guess??? i think they are called "molex connectors"?? i am looking for a wire plug or plugs to run all the gauge wires to so that i have "plugs" between the dash harness & the new gauges.
