USSP Hot street.

Sounds like I wasted a ton of money bulding my 496 !! 13.5 to 1 comp, brodix cnc'd bb2 extras, big solid roller, super victor,1150 dominator that made a little over 800 h.p.

I cant sign you up, I dont have 9.1 comp 700 HP steel headed engines, but I do have 9.5-9.6 comp, hyd roller, 238@.050 steel headed engines making 670 HP. ;)

Mark,

I don't see more than one guy really calling you out on your numbers. With that, you need to have Harold Bettes come down and verif everything?

If you took my post as doubting your abilities, then you need to go back and read it again. I was forming my guess based on the info provided and the tools I had. Don't let my love for the LS based motors rain on your parade, there is still a market for big blocks, just not in my stuff.

You seem a little quick to get defensive, but hey, I can understand taking things personal at times.

Not going there at all.

SBC forever!

I've been curious as friends of mine (and me at times) have stated it will cost more to build a hot BBC than a SBC.

Now I am not trying to hijack this thread so don't tak offense. As I know there is no replacing Displacement on CI.

As I know the BBC make some Monster torque numbers. Okay let me just end this here. Cuz I could make a new thread of BBC vs. SBC and most would go towards the BBC.

I was just wondering aloud while at work. :mm:

Cubic dollars is what it takes to go fast, and they sure go alot farther when building a BBC than they do building a SBC or LS based engine.

The 800 HP oval port 11.5 compression engine has not been down the track yet, my customer will have runs on it coming up this spring. To me, I like to know the (racing background) of the people questioning my dyno numbers. So I think its only fair I state my background. I machine and build and test my own engines, everything is machined in house with the crankshaft as an exception. 1. Two strait hot street championships (550 inch NA 10 inch tire 3350 pounds) both ends of the records, won every race except for 1 over a two season span, as an engine builder. 2. The fastest full weight, small tire, oval port (GM) production blocked chevelles in country come out of my shop. 3. Just for you I have an example of a Vortecpro powered 468 NA camaro, I think you just might be able to identify with. NA 468 9.40 @ 142.40 1.28 60 on the foot brake @ 1670 feet DA @ KCIR. BTW on that dyno you questioned the HP of, it made (the 468) 45 less hp than yours, 795 HP. Happy reading:metal:

Dont get in your defensive mode..Sounds like you have had some fast cars, you never know when a keyboard racer is just bumping there gums.

I have had friends show me dyno sheets with big numbers and the car wouldnt run anywhere close to the number it should have.

Thanks for the compliment on my old camaro, I had a 582 bbc,13.5-1 comp, cfe 385 bmf heads, single carb, N/A that dyno'd 1133 H.P built for that car and never got to put it in. That would have been fun !! One of these days I am going to build another hot rod and I may look you up for a powerplant. Geary

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

Just an FYI.

On the.9.56 pass and the pass with the maroon camaro with the 468. I was there for both of those passes as we rented the track. None of this is bull****.
The 9.56 was off the trailer and the 3rd pass ever on the motor. He also pedal'd that pass because the wheelie went a little higher than he wanted.
Garrets 468 is a bad little mofo!
The red chevelle should go high 20's low 30's when ironed out.

Congrats!!! I wanted to put mine up but had a few issues with the guys doing the work.. thus I will break the engine in and then have it put on a drum and I will have what really gets to the pavement.. I wish had a crank number as well though.. jealous HA HA

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!

I dyno here but it is a rear wheel dyno for harleys. I have a question on the AFR that is showing on the sheet. Is there a reason that its running so rich?? Or was that where they set it as it made the most power there, or ran cooler, Most will run in the 13.0 range to 13.5 and run cool to make the best power.. Not stirring the pot only asking. To me that seems too rich.
