So i picked up a steering column from a 86 chevy van with Key $60. I was pleased with the fit with little modifications .
I made a bracket to drop it a bit but using all the existing mounting holes on the steering and dash. |

Where the battery box is i made a bracket that comes off the frame to support my air valves. This allows for easy access.
I know its a cluttered mess but its temporary since i dont have a battery in the truck right now im using a 11.1V lipo battery to air up my truck when i want to work on it. |

Installed Hydroboost brake booster and all lines for brakes have been ran.
I used the Hydroboost Lines from a 2001 Chevy 2500 and re bent them to fit. Saved me allot of money vs having them custom made with AN fittings. |

Hey Zoomin, 1965-68 mustang tank is what i used and seems to be a popular one to use. Its only 16 gal but i should get close to 20mpg crusing so it wont be bad. Im going to build a 20 gal fuel cell later. |

Re: 54 gmc... Newb Project
you should get atleast 20mpg average. more highway. I was getting around 20mpg in my carbed vortec sbc on highway. So how you like the PSI harness? they seem to be a popular choice.
Lastly I'm on my second late 80's 2wd blazer tank. its 20g and fits in just like the stang tanks, but.... the fill is to the driverside, so you need to locate the fill either through side of bed or fender. I chose right behind fender so you can hardly notice its there. The sending unit is cheap for it, and I suppose you could just run an out of tank HP fuel pump if you use it for the LS stuff. just a future thought, if you don't do a cell. |
