gray 3m scoth brite pad and microfiber rags for cleanup

I will probably apply wax to the areas that retain some paint once the whole thing has been gone over with the CLR.

The bends for the radiator showed up so I fitted all the tube for the upper line. Once a 1.75" 120 degree shows up I will finish the bottom and then take them to be welded.

With a majority of the weight now on it I also checked and set the axle pinion angle. I may wait to weld everything until after the doors and glass just to be safe though.

The glass guy also came by to make a pattern for the rear so that should be happening soon.

My friend welded up the coolant pipes for me yesterday and the hose clamps showed up earlier today. I also picked up a reservoir and got in mounted.

The glass guy came by and did the rear piece. He had trouble finding a non tinted windshield but we should have it next week.

We had to pull the front bodywork back off to swap out the springs that were in it. They ended up being too low causing the upper ball joints to bind. This was a surprise considering what I had read about others experience with subframe mounting height. I have a feeling I am not going to be happy with the final ride height, but not much that can be done at this point.

On a positive note the glass guy came by and did the windshield for a very reasonable price.

Everything looks really well done, huge congrats!

May I ask: did you shoot the firewall & inner fenders with an automotive type paint through a gun or was it done with rattle cans? Same question on the bed liner or undercoat you used on the steps?

The engine bay is an Omni brand black epoxy primer shot from a cheap harbor freight gun. I am really not that happy with it to tell you the truth. I had used SPI brand epoxy on another cars engine bay and expected similar quality from the Omni. It is pretty soft for an epoxy and if I did it over I would use another brand.

The undercoating is a a textured (little pieces of rubber) polyurethane from a company called durabak. I have been pretty happy with it overall. It has cured pretty hard for a polyurethane and went down easy. I just used a cheap undercoating gun of amazon.com to spray it.

We have just been cleaning up small stuff in the interior, looming the under dash harness, and diagnosing an issue we had with the rear turn signals and brake lights. It ended up being the aftermarket bulb sockets so we just ordered new housings.

I also painted the last of the interior trim along with the steering wheel after completing the repairs to it.

The doors are now hung and adjusted. We still need to get the latches working, but that may mean a new set of strike plates with the condition the existing set is in. The wiper motor showed up and is now installed and working. I used more CLR on the rest of the bed and we are just about done getting the wood back in it.

We replaced one of the door latches so they both function now. The door panels went on and today I did the final gauge install. My dad finished up filling and sanding all of the repairs to the body. If its warm enough tomorrow I will start painting everything.

I think we should be able to start driving it within the next couple weeks.

We just got done letting it come up to temp and idle to check for leaks and top off the trans fluid.

No leaks and everything sounds good with the motor.

I sprayed epoxy primer over the areas we repaired on the cab and got the hood shimmed and installed. I also set thel pinion angle and did the final welds on the axle.

We are going to get the bed on over the weekend and drive it to have the firewall color scanned so we can get an exact pain match. It has been off twice trying to match what good paint remained on the tailgate.

My Dad finished up some stuff with the bed earlier today and I just helped him lift it onto the chassis. I am surprised we were able to get it on there but all that is left now is countersinking the offset washers and a couple shims.

I will try and get some better images this weekend.
