Thanks I love working on old cars. Yea I haven't had to many people bother me Lately about my trucks and cars every so often I get some one that stops by and ask about one of them. I try to hide them from the main road.

Busy weekend rebuilt my 5 speed . pulled the rear end out of my parts suburban
To go back to the 3.73 gear ratio instead of the 3.08 gears that are in the truck now. Going to pull the large brakes off my existing axle and try to use them on my stock axle,I also ordered a set of 5 lug axles from moser , new bearings and seals.

Well $800 later my axle is back from getting overhauled kinda sad I only have $300 for the truck. Installed my moser axles and my big brakes from the heavy half axle that was under the truck previously. Started cleaning up so I can paint it. The picture of the 2 brake drums is a comparison of stock vs heavy half.

It's been awhile but have some updates ,one of my friends that works with me at the restoration shop has been working on the finishing the body work. I have the axial in,the transmission tunnel cover made ,rear of the frame finished and painted, and almost all of my small parts blasted and etch primered.

Rebuilt the heater controls used the steel rather than the pot-metal levers. Painted the instrument panel bezel kind of a gunmetal color from Honda.

Looks good, I was wondering how does one go about prepping and painting inside of the rib on the front bed panel? Im about to paint my need fleetside bed I figured the paint could be done with a sponge on a stick but short of chemical stripper and attaching a wire brush to a stick Im not sure how to prep. Looks like there is a bed paint job in your future so I was curious what you where going to do?
