i wish i could. the material is a bolt that he has in his bin. he doesn't even remember where he got it. and knowing that i would do a few seats out of the same material, i asked him to reserve it for me.

you might visit a few upholstery shops and ask to see what vintage material they saved. i think that stuff is out there.

When you have a minute could you post a closeup photo? We are getting really close to replacing our current seat and this gets the wife's approval. I've been saving pictures or seats for quite a while for ideas.

last weekend while at the roundup i was staying with a buddy who loves his 66. another "ol'blue". he wants this truck to be dealership fresh and we took on the challenge. its already a sweet fully optioned truck that will need only minor mechanicals and the full cosmetic treatment.
this weekend we got the bed and clip off and started planning the changes necessary to build exactly what he wants. so, heres the beginning...

those baby blues are just so photogenic...

ok, so, today i visited my favorite junk yard and made the mother of all salvage runs. there was this old military bus, army i think, like a large school bus, that was packed full of truck parts. i struck a deal with the owner and started hauling it off. could only make 2 trips today as it was pretty far from home but here is a tease of the score... i think there is around 40 grills and probably 2 or 3 more trips of assorted parts.

LOL-img here.

Question is, how to fit a couple into your baggage.

I am sure this was not as easy as Clem makes it out to be.

A lot of hard work goes into getting to he point where he is now with his yard.

Well do e Clem!!!

Thanks to guys like you, armchair mechanics around the world can possibly progress past certain dead end spots in builds.

not really the lottery but it was a decent score ... most of the stuff will need some massaging.
