Well after not being able to fix in the drivers donor door I swapped it out for the door on my truck. Grinded down through the layers of rust. Inch deep before I hit metal. After discovering all sorts of drain holes and weight saving spots I started cutting. Now door looks doable but brazed holes are staying for now.

I got most of the cap stripped down. Drip rail area was rough along with a circle of rust in the center of roof. Also some sweat patches on the rockers and passenger cab corner. Stripped the new bedside also which is straight and clean so it kinda stands out. I also sprayed some golden Fawn paint on the interior part of the door then proceeded to scratch it all up while fighting getting wing window back in. Couldn’t remember to wait on felts till after window.

I finished up bead rolling my door panels. I still need to paint them. Plus a fun battery box I made that bolts in from the side for a rat rod at work.

I finally got to put my letters on the hood which I’ve owned for a couple years now. Broke the stud off the L which was exciting. Made a aluminum bracket to mount my vintage air heater defrost to. I wanted it high so I brought it all the way up to glovebox door. I also realized I needed to clearance a opening for heater hoses that was big enough to get my hand into. I never thought about having to reach the nuts on the backside of these cool firewall pass through grommets.

Trying to see how much rust is in the cab. I promise there is a little metal holding the cab together somewhere. Also made this bed floor for 38 rat rod at work. I also finally fixed the centering pins on lower control arms. One side had moved after my off-roading adventure in Pennsylvania.

Well crazy hours on the truck lately. I got the doors on, made a box for stereo face plus speakers, weather stripping, 1 1/16” sway bar, radio metal in, firewall holes welded, oil changed and heater installed. Bigger sway bar with good bushings is a game changer. Best $80. Parked my longbed till I decide to sell it or ship it to California.

Moved from Missouri to near Bakersfield CA. Fun road trip and luckily I got the heater hooked up before I left. Plus sway bar saved my life coming down Colorado mountains. Besides hitting 3 crazy jumps going 80mph in Utah which bottomed out my wheels pretty good and brakes smoking coming down the mountains it was awesome.
