hey guys, still plugging away on this rusty junker... my lincoln has had me wrapped up doing shows this summer but im still picking away at the truck, I've got most of the drivers side floors all welded in, last month i bought a 2WD 2000 sierra 1500, why? i don't know, it was a good deal so now i have a 5.3 with a 2WD 4L60E trans which will be good for another project. also in the truck was a cherry set of SS silverado seats that im going to use in the C10. they aren't my first choice for seats but they are very comfortable, all power and heated so ill learn to like them. once this cab is done i can put it back on the chassis and get to building the rest of the truck.

Re: Slammed 1966 GMCummins 12v
So no mods to the firewall or anything to get the Cummins in there? I am having the idea of doing this to a K20 of the same style. I had read that they are a bit long and require some fab work to the firewall.

i haven't touched anything on the fire wall, i did have to cut out the top of the trans tunnel where the pinch weld is, the 47rh is a bit tall for for it to fit when i Z'ed the frame in the front. if your doing a K20 i doubt you will cut the frame where i did so you'll be fine with clearance. i can post more pics if you want just let me know what you need. other than that the engine mounts and pulley clearance was good up front. |

Sorry guys, I haven’t been doing much on the truck. We moved few weeks ago so that was taking up most of my time. I used to work on my stuff at my parents place but now I’ve got my own garage so I should be able to get some thing done a bit quicker. Frame is fully done now, ready for final install. Trans has been dropped off to get a overhaul and some parts have been rolling in. I’ll have some time off over the Christmas break, hopefully get more done

Messing with the batteries and air ride stuff. Built a tray (heavy AF)

This is how low the tank will be when aired out. There’s still a good 5” there so I don’t think it will be a problem.

Painted some other stuff up, slowly but surely this project is gonna get finished.

I had to tig weld a new v-band to the original exhaust housing on the turbo.

Exhaust getting welded up. I like the single exhaust much easier than having to match dual V8 stuff

Air ride switches are in, made a plate for the front of my console, nice and clean and not noticeable. Exhaust fully done, not sure I’m gonna like the stack but I was talked into it by friends. Cab is also on for hopefully the final time. Little bit left to do but it will hopefully be done this spring.

thanks man, its my first full build so im learning tons and having tons of fun. i kicked around the idea of making my own driveshaft and after 2-3 weeks of internal debate i decided to get a shop to make it. i gave them centreline to centreline thinking they would make it 1/2-3/4" shorter so i could fit it in and they did not, i guess they thought i woulda gave them the measurement i needed to fit. either way i spent this morning cutting, shortening, re welding and painting the driveshaft to work. i guess its my bad. and if it needs to be re-balanced ill have to do that. i guess ill wait and see after i drive it |

Front sheet metal is on, still needs a lot of adjustments to line up better. I’m getting more motivated now that it’s looking like a full truck.

Box is on, made my own mounts and inner structure. I’m going to be putting in small wheel tubs so no rubbing will happen, also once I can order some aluminum I’m going to put a flip up floor in. Mini stack is looking cool too, I’m happy with how it turned out.

A/C is hung, shifter is in and new wheel mocked up. I want the shifter close to me cause the 47rh trans has a electric lockup converter and electric OD. So I’ll run two toggles on the handle to operate those. It will get annoying reaching for them all the time.

Still have tons to do, hung the master, And I also bought one of those SCT tools from Eastwood, man what a great little machine. I ran it over my work bench to make it look new again.

Tough crowd.... got some gauges, gonna order 2 more so it fills up my cluster. I’ll be using a flat piece 0.100” thick aluminum as my cluster. Not many options for GMC guys for clusters.
