Got mine on today.
Super easy install. Looks factory And some sweet patina fell out of the front cab support. Closer to an air ride cab yet. |

Looks like you tightened those four larger screws a bit. Did they help snug up the fit? |
Re: Dummy Filler Neck for 67-72 Trucks with Removed In-Cab Tank
Maybe a turn more than touching. Seemed like it tightened the whole deal up.
Very happy with the install and end result. Thank you |

And only the locking cap because that's what I had.
Still want the chrome one with a springy snake to surprise someone |

Re: Dummy Filler Neck for 67-72 Trucks with Removed In-Cab Tank
Thundarr, who made the original suggestion to make this dummy filler neck work with an AC power outlet, posted a photo of it in his build thread. Thank you, Thundarr!
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...70#post9050170 By the way, in this next batch, I am going to use standard pan-head screws instead of flat-head screws on the regular non-power-outlet version. For those of you who plan on attaching a power outlet, you will need to let me know so I can machine the countersinks for flat-head screws for you. https://i.imgur.com/XwKwC1Yl.jpg |

Re: Dummy Filler Neck for 67-72 Trucks with Removed In-Cab Tank
It occurred to me that I need to be able to pull my truck out of the garage to paint the filler necks. My rear axle assembly is removed at the moment, so I'm going to need to spend the next few days getting that put back together before I can paint the filler necks. I'm sorry about the delay.
