Re: Parting this 66
what is the difference in v8 to inline 6 radiator bracket?
I have a few different ones and not sure which is which |
Re: Parting this 66
I think they are all the same since the radiator is the same for the 250, 283 and 327 according to most the parts houses. I have one I know is a 6 and one on my original V8 truck so I was just going to set them side by side.

Here is a pic of the bracket.

Re: Parting this 66
There are actually different upper brackets. They mount the same, but the "V-8" one is wider to accommodate a wider upper tank. The simplest way would probably be to just measure the inside opening of the bracket and see if it will fit over the tank you are trying to work with. There are also different lower mounts, in a different location farther forward the the larger radiator.

Re: Parting this 66
Not sure what I have is much better than yours. Drip rail is rusted off of it and looks pretty pitted in about the same spot as yours.

Re: Parting this 66
Hi and thank you in advance for fielding this. I am looking for what I believe is called a Parking brake cable clamp. It's bolted (two bolts) to the rear brake back plate were the parking brake cable goes into the back plate.

Re: Parting this 66
Jimmy,
Thanks for photo, could the number be 3923898? How does the pulley grove/ belt area look? Thanks, Les |
Re: Parting this 66
Yes that could be the number. A little surface rust from sitting and will clean up fine. I can put it in the lathe and clean them in short order.

Re: Parting this 66
Sorry I'm late to the conversation .... if you still have this bucket of rust are you willing to cut a donor panel off the cab?? I need passenger side, cab rear corner/back of cab. I can provide more specifics if this is something you are wiling to do. Note: I understand that the bottom rear cab corner is always rotted out ... what I need is kind of from the horizontal body line (mid-height on the cab) to the bottom of the cab from the door jam around to the back of the cab to the place where the back of the cab has the first pressed indent below the back window. Anyway; let me know if this is possible. Thanks, Rod
