Went to a Mariners game last summer. Got some free seats. I didn't mind being up there a bit. Seems like at a baseball game I end up yaking with my family or buds and just enjoying some ball park food more than actually watching the game anyway.
There wasn't anyone in front of me until the game started. Oh yeah, I had a clear view of the diamond and the field. Now I'm not slamming this person for not being small (heck I could lose a bit myself), but she knew the people in front of her and leaned forward most of the game to chat with them. |

My wife and I are going to New Mexico in a couple of weeks and do some camping in the Guadalupe Mountains with her oldest son who move out there earlier this summer. I’ve been thinking we need to head east sometime and the Shenandoah Valley looks like a cool area to hike and camp. |
Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
That reminds me, the wife and I will be visiting the Grand Canyon week after next. ;)

We are going to West Virginia in two weeks to ride the Hatfield/McCoy trails. I'm looking forward to it. We usually go west.

Backpacking this week in Wyoming at 10,000-ft. Unsuccessful hunt but it was an experience. Attachment 1946844 |
Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
Wow, 10,000 ft?... Elk? Man you gotta be in good shape just to get to camp when there is no snow. Bet you’re having the time of your life.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’
Mule deer. We did see some elk. Was tracking a respectable (and elusive) buck for a couple days and some other hunters came through and spooked everything. It’s a crazy hike with 65-lb on your back, and I am not a fan of those low temps :( Very happy to be off the mountain now, warm, and enjoying real food again. :)

That picture was down river (north) in PA. This is upstream from her place after a lot of rain. There's a rail trail along the river which runs by town

I was driving a light weight, overloaded van with a wheelbase too short to safely tow. Im surprised I actually made it over 400 miles without incident! In the hills of Pennsylvania I started down a medium grade hill that had a gentle curve in it, and as my speed increased more than I was comfortable, I made the mistake of braking. It swapped ends a few times before I rolled everything. |

How do you follow the strict EPA lead containment regulations when raising a 100 year old house? This is Main St Mt. Airy. |

It was a good house with a large lot. It had a nice barn they took down a few years earlier. A few new houses are going up on a little new culdesac. I'm surprised the town allowed it. We have one of those brown "Historic Mt. Airy" signs out on the interstate. They tear this down to built ranchers that are all the same design on top of each other. The town is not a designated historic site, but still seems contrary the town didn't require a design that fit in, what with that sign they put out on the hiway. We have always had poor planning in this town. More like none from what I see, other than "broaden the tax base". The dust caught my attention because I have to worry about a $5k fine (per violation) for not following the extremely ridiculously strict guidelines set forth by the EPA for work on any area about the size of a sheet of plywood on any house built before 1975. I don't know any other way to go about tearing down a house. I just see the hypocrisy in it all. If I replaced one of those windows there would be a list of a dozen things I'd be required to do. One would be lay plastic sheeting on the roof I have to stand on. "Hey OSHA, how do you feel about that one?" |
