Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
I have 2 R.O.C fenders I didn't know what to do with. ..
Now I'll cut them up and use the asian tin to do the same. Looks good. . Just took a couple double takes to realize what you did. GREAT idea... thanks.. :5150: |
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Nice job! The wheel opening mods look great.
|
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
The front wheel openings look sweet:metal:. I've always thought there was a little too much room on the front openings

I know I have said it before but I love your truck. First time I have seen the sectioned fender on this body style. Might have to try it with my 66. Looks great!

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
First green automobile I have ever liked.
|
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Thanks! Yeah, I mentioned before that I'm not a fan of green either. But, I'm one of those who would obsess over the paint code not matching. My buddy who is painting the truck promised me he would make it look nice, so I let him have at. It is turning out much better than I expected.

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
It's a good looking truck.
I'm selling 2 of my extra trucks to get the funds to get my prostreet done. I want to make the Pontiac Heaven event.. Won't be painted but will have a pontiac mill. |
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Outstanding! I didn't realize dates have been set for Pontiac Heaven? Will it be at Wild Horse again?
|
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
I thought the Pontiac Heaven event was always in April. .
Maybe I should check. |
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
It usually is, but I thought he was having trouble with securing dates. I know a lot of the local Pontiac guys are still waiting on a schedule update.

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
The extended rear wheel tubs got painted today. Just a couple more small parts and I should be able to start finally putting parts onto the truck and clearing out my office and other creative storage areas...uh, I mean bedrooms. ;)

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Looks great. How do you like those latch kits?
|
Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Looks great

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Thanks! The MAR-K hidden latch kit is one of the best aftermarket parts I've purchased for this build. It solved a huge issue I had with wanting a functional tailgate without the chains. To clear the links, you have to be careful in trimming the sides of the tailgate (you get a template in the kit). Since you trim back past some of the pinch welds, I re-welded the edge.

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
I got a few small parts back from the anodizer and powder coater yesterday afternoon, so I was able to get some of the cab moldings and trim pieces on, as well as make sure the instrument cluster still fits...

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...psjoqfzlq1.jpg Then I got a little gift from a buddy in the mail today...I'll have to machine it, but I think I have my column shifter handle. :hm: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps1eqr2am4.jpg |

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
After struggling with finding a decent door weatherstrip (bought one from Steele, tried a friend's Precision) without any possibility of closing and latching my doors, I broke down and ordered a set from Honda. Having gone through the pains of gluing in a weatherstrip before, resisting using glue turned out to be a plus. I was most concerned about fitment and staying put at the top of the door - it fits nice and secure...oh, and I can shut and latch my doors with a single finger. ;)

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Looks nice, I'm definitely going to use the Honda seals on my truck. Even the original seals don't allow the door to close properly

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
BEAUTIFUL! Luv the color combo!!!

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
Thanks, guys! California Car Cover Co. embroidered the cover...

Re: Intro and Some Photos of my '63 Project
After being way over center on my door adjustments trying to make the aftermarket door weatherstrip work, I installed a Honda push-on weatherstrip, removed all of the shims from the hinges, and adjusted all four hinge mounts and striker. Finally, success and the door opens and closes with ease...

My powder coater said that he could match my paint color for a few smaller items. So, I handed him parts of my Chassisworks dual 15 lbs. nitrous bottle bracket:
