Depends. Mine were brand new. It's the nature of lead springs that they may need some adjustment.

Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
I can't begin to describe how much I like this K5 :metal:
I have always LOVED the plaid interiors. It's very refreshing to see people taking the time to revive them (or accurately recreate them as you did) rather than pitching the seats and installing basic LMC-type covers or going with another type altogether. I don't think SMC used to have the fabric in stock. Maybe they did and I just didn't ask the right questions. Oh well, making a thousand mile drive to get plaid seats in my trusty old Burb is a trip that will always be remembered. I'm curious about the dash pad and door panels that you had refreshed. Does it look original around the screw holes in the door panels and does the dash pad have the correct looking center speaker opening? |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
I'm sure they still have some. Grab the fabric numbers off the picture from the first page of the thread and give them that info. They gave me the picture. Thanks for the compliments. :)

This is indeed a rad blazer. Good work on keeping it alive. My '77 has the mandarin orange interior also. Dig it.

Any shots of the Ram-Jet? I've had 2 of those engines and they are fantastic. They really don't get the credit they deserve in my opinion.

I used to use Arizona Speed and Marine years ago to do the MEFI 3 and 4 ecms. Who's doing it now??

Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
Also, if you have one that starts running rich at idle replace your O2 sensor. Ask me how I know!! Hahaha

These are the guys I'm gonna try out: http://www.mefiburn.com/ramjettuning.asp
O2 sensors are great unless they're giving you hell. Could be cheaper too. |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
Added NOS Rear Air Deflector:

For the look or does it have an affect on something?

Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
I found a good product for the rear aluminum panel on the Blazer. Mine had the normal chalky oxidation that looks dull and crappy.
I used this: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...5-1600x900.jpg And now it looks like this: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...6-1600x900.jpg Also, got this Tom Wood's CV Driveshaft with Shims in the other day. Need time to install: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...-1280x7201.jpg |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
I understand as I have 3 kids myself. C10's in the Park is a great family friendly one day event. We just chilled out and talked with a bunch of old and new friends.

Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
OK Folks: Working on some new additions. I currently have the rims in for powdercoat. The painted silver was already showing some rust. No bueno.
I just ordered some Sunflower Yellow Pinstriping Vinyl in 1/4" and 3/8" sizes to change the trim from black to sunflower yellow. By the way Phillip, I "am" using some of the factory pins on my trim. Brain fart there. I'm still using all the hex nut attachments. I also ordered some 1/4" Orange HDPE to fabricate a tailgate guard to end the inevitable scratches when it's down. I went ahead and ordered a B&M 12-Bolt Cover to increase the volume of fluid for the gears. My pinion angle is sitting at 14.5 degrees, so it was making me a hair nervous. Probably overkill. Ordered a ARB Power Port for the back to run my ARB Cooler. Also purchased the Dorman Parts to run it as a standard Cigarette Lighter Power Port. Finally, I'm upgrading the factory AC with a kit from Original Air. I'll add pictures as things are installed. |

Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
Looks real sharp.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...-1024x1820.jpg Had the guys at TIDWELL Tire road force balance the wheels and tires and do an alignment. Wow. This sucker rolls down the road fabulous. Also, finally ran down some NOS wheel caps. |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
That's awesome, they look killer! Question about the 16". Did you send them yours and they just rehooped them to 16's? Do you have more clearance inside, or does it not really lip up to 16" till the very edge?
I've got a set of those for my 2wd as well and was just interested in the process. |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
Phillip: Here's the back.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...-1024x1820.jpg Looks to be about 1-1/2" of clearance. Looks like it's actual clearance and not a lip-up. The squeeze looks to be at the face. |
Re: 1978 Russet Metallic 4x4
You did have to send your wheels to them correct??
