Before I got my burb i thought I wanted a Travelall or Town Wagon 4x4, but I'm a Chevy guy. I do like those Town Wagons.

I lost all my pictures earlier this year. You guys are feeding my photo files:cool:.I keep seeing ones I want to comment on,then I see one better.I all kinds of dig that green IH with red done fleet-style.I have a thing for hansome fleets, too.Especially tradition styled ones from brfore everything has to be polished aluminum or stainless. They did so much with a little paint.I sure like that green w/black Travelall, too.
I`ve always loved the Travelalls & Town Wagons, too.I ended up sticking with GMs over those for daily use reasons, like parts availabilty and swapability. Then,it went from there.I have a thing for consistency,or did.Because now I`d love to own a mix.The GMs run deepest in my blood, though.

This War Wagon was running around at Carlisle Trucks last summer:

My WC-53 doesn't have the Jerry Carrier, or the Pioneer Kit, but he doesn't have the Tire Carrier or Sanden Wench.... Oh and his hasn't been laid on its side, like the previous owner did with mine... and it looks a lot nicer... and runs... and... and... ;)

Re: Vintage 4wd Pictures:Other Makes

those 5 ton military road tractors a couple pages back are AWESOME! loud crude and will go through more mud than all get out, we stored one on our farm a couple years back and it was fun to ride in. open top and did that front axle whine! really cool trucks
and while people are talking tractors also...
http://www.agcoiron.com/ImagesUpload/LT90_tillage.jpg
we have an Agco (used to be Allis Chalmers, now same as Massey-Ferguson) very very similar to this one and pulls a couple tons of farm equipment in mud OVER the front axle without grunting a bit, the front and rear diff lockers are very cool!

How about a Jeep concept vehicle.......:fro:

"This 1970 4x4 sports car concept carried the model number XJ001, a decade before the new Cherokee was designated as the "XJ." Two slightly different designs were tried on the two sides of the fiberglass body, which was mounted on a CJ-5 frame with the Dauntless V6 engine. The concept car, apparently also referred to as the "Cowboy," was displayed at car shows for a couple of years until it was destroyed in a trucking accident."

I can't imagine what they where thinking with that car. It actually reminds me of something George Trosley would of drawn up back in the day.

I love that era in Olivers as well as all the earlier ones.I lived on a farm that had one from the same era.I don`t recall the series but it was a big boy,not 4wd.It had an over/under transmission and in hi range it was downright scarey going all out.Seriously, that thing flew! When I was doing the frame-off on my`69 Power Wagon I ran 10 miles into town with the clutch rod to the welder.Let`s just say no one passed me :D.These are the last ones before they combined with White, aren`t they.I ran that one back in the late`70s.

Might as well toss my other pics of the ole Wagon now.I can`t believe this was 30 years ago:

This thread Rocks! When I was a kid my dad had this giant coffee mug with a picture of a Unimog on one side and a bunch of smaller pics on the other side of all the special attatchments that you could ad to a Unimog. Super cool back then. Wish I still had that mug.

I seen one of these stretched FJ's in Tijuana, so I did a little search to see if it was factory.
Seems they where factory just not imported into the states, it is called a troopy.
