Brand new to the forum! The amount of useful resources I have sound so far amazes me! I just bought this 1965 C20, and havent even seen it or got to drive it yet! I am overseas and wont be back for another 2 months so its killing me knowing that it is just sitting in my garage! My dad has fallen for it and keeps trying to get me to sell it to him!

Nice trucks! What size wheels you running on the Black short bed? Did you have to modify any thing on the truck with the 454(chassis, axle, etc.)
due to the torque or size of motor?

Hey thanks, The tire size on the fronts are 255/50 18's and the rears are 295/45 20's. The rims are Coys a company out of Utah. For the rears to tuck under the fender we had to grind out as much of the fender without loosing integrity and shape.
- The rear maintains the stock trailing arms with a later 12. bolt posi rear and 5 whole bolt pattern. To lower the rear, blocks and dropped springs about 6" in.
-The front has dropped spindles and dropped springs. Lowered about 4" in.
The trany is a 700r4. It is geared high, it does 75 mph at 1,800 rpm. It still has plenty of power and we have yet to find a top speed.

I just found this site and it rocks. I'm in the process of buying a 65 Chevy shortbed fleetside as a daily driver, pics soon. I picked this 61 GMC 4000 last week. The guy gave it to me for hauling off some scrap. It has a running V-6, 5spd with PTO, air brakes and AM radio. It was kept in a building most of it's life and is almost rust free. Has a little outer panel rust through on the doors only. The last owner bought it in Nebraska 10 yrs ago and drove it to Missouri and used it to haul logs. He retired a couple of years ago and parked the truck and it's been sitting ever since.

Hello Everyone. Newbie here. I have a 64 Custom Cab Big Window Long Bed Fleetside as well as a 1962 short bed rolling frame. Im new here im trying to find a place to post some of my pictures. My 1962 Chevy X frame roller. Keeping the rear suspension set up. The traction bars are rust free and in real good shape. Will put the rear on air bags. Im new to air ride suspension but im told you can get bags and just fill to a certain psi for the lift. Not needing the whole system right away. Im also decideing on the front end swap to the 73-87 style or removing my tortions and building an upper and lower mount for a set of bags using the stock control arms. Input?

Are you ready for this!!! Menards rustoleum 26.00 hawiian sky blue acetone 12.00 mix and spray!!!! 38.00 paint it sprayed nice looks good enought to drive, its not show paint but good enough for the rest of the summer and this winter ill get all the blems dings fixed and find a base coat clear and spray the outside later

Man that's what I like a great deal LOL! Thanks for the color information looks like a show quality job to me. Mines going to be a driver....Do you have a thread specifing the adaptions made to mount to Crown Vic chassis? Im puting mine on another chassis as well.

Just 20" got em for 300 w/tires, I'll eventually get some nice welds with slicks :metal:I want it to do wheelies some day.

Here is my driving work in progress..... Currently in the process of dropping the front a bit more with new lower control arms and bags and also changing to some new black interior. The exterior will get the last bits of body work finished and a new spray over the winter months...

Wow!! This is a good looking "65 4x4 GMC. Didn't take you long to get this truck back to it's Glory Days. Sure would like to see more pics of this one.
