Finally got a couple pics of my ol' blue burb. Just a couple for now. This thing was bone stock plane jane whenI got it 13 months ago. Paid $4500. for it with less than 87,000 original miles on it. the outside mods I've done to it is swapped out the mirrors to factory power models, Tinted the windows, upgraded the headlights to H4 halogens with 90w low beam-130w high beam with relays installed on both circuits. tinted the front turn signals, side markers, roof clearance lights, and tail light lenses. I also rewired the outer clearance lights to flash with the front turn signals. Also added the vent visors and a factory original rear air deflector. I've done even more mods on the inside and will post pics of them on here later.

New (to me at least) 82 2wd that someone wanted to be 4wd. I paid 650 for it and it runs and drives. Rust at the edges of the floorboards from the top being off but the rockers are rust free. I'm new to the board and this is my first major project so I will probably be harassing a few of the other board members for advice shortly. Hoping to end up with something along the lines of tvblazer78 when I'm done.

What a find!!:metal: Welcome to the board..
Thank you very much for using my blazer for an example. If you need anything please let us know. And keep us posted with your project. Trav Quote:

This is my '86 Jimmy.. I sold it a couple of months ago because my motor lost oil pressure one night coming home from work and took a shat on me... I thought it would never be worth fixing but after driving a pontiac bonneville while I build my 69 pickup doesn't compare. I miss my ol' blaze so bad.. I want to find a decent one sometime in the near future like it.
-350 chevy/700r4 trans -6'' lift on 35'' tires -dual flowmaster super 40's -1800 watt kenwood system. The whole town knew me and my baby, she was a beast. |

Number 2
1988 GMC Jimmy 4x4 This one needs some interior TLC as well as new tires. As soon as I get my sleeves rolled up, I think I am going to do an entire interior refinish. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1098/img3509ye5.jpg http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1093/img3508ki7.jpg http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/15/img3507vx9.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/9681/img3506fz7.jpg http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1597/img3505rb7.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/1130/img3503gr3.jpg http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/1839/img3502qv2.jpg http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/6875/img3501uc4.jpg |

Sure, I'll play! I don't have anything impressive, but my Suburban still gets the job done! It hauls me, my wife, and six kids to town, or camping, etc.

I'm not telling you not to do what you want ;), just seems like a waste. But if you are planning on changing the interior around I know someone that would be real interested in all four of those non-power blue door panels... |

to be brutally honest the stock motor of what 165 - 175hp in a 6000lb truck is so slow its almost laughable, how GM could rate that truck to pull 10,000lbs with that motor is beyond me, with 7500 youd be doing 25 - 30 at the top of a big hill....not really safe....I wouldnt want to tow 5000 with it the way it is.......we pile everybody in the truck and pull my 9000lb 29ft Fever to the lake every weekend......in my 88 the chassis was fine, amazing actually, fully loaded you could eat your burger and fries while crusing along at 60 if you wanted, the 350 tbi needed more HP though no question......Im in a 80s timewarp.......a mint 85' truck will be pulling a mint 89' boat......wheres crocket & tubbs !!:D |
