Let us know how that 1st drive goes.
|
Well the drive went good I think!! I took it about a 1/2 mile and turned around and came back. Everything feels ok. Truck didnt even pull to my surprise. I still have to get the front end aligned ASAP. I expected it to be way off as EVERY single part of the front end is new. I just backed it into the garage. Im going to let it cool down a minute then crawl under and check all the bolts and brake line fittings.
|
Cool. BTW . . .... those mirrors made a big difference.
|
Yeah now to clean it up a bit. I noticed the front rotors are puttin off some shavings. I have new Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads up front. I think it just the pads seatin in?? Also one side of the truck is sittin 1/2" lower in the front than the other. I guess Im gonna pull the wheels and check the rotors and the way the spring is turned in the a arms.

Got the new grill in this weekend. I have a checkmate fiberglass cover that I am going to attempt to cut down to fit this truck. It was originally for my 83 Long bed. Did another test drive and took truck to get front end aligned. SO far so good. Going to buff the paint during the week and clean it up some more. Also got a optima battery at Autozone.

And the new pics are where?????

Re: New Project truck!!
What da hell!!!!! If I didn’t know any better, I think I just witness a TV show on how to trick, modify, and customize your truck. Then Frankinize it to be come a “can of wupass”.
Man do you have time and money to just turn this stuff out or what ?!?!?!?!?!? Very Very nicely done…..Bravo !!!!! |
Re: New Project truck!!
I put my pants on one leg at a time. I go to work every day and put in a hard days work. Every single item I buy for my truck addiction is done purely from side jobs and wheelin and dealin. My wife does not allow me to take ANY money what so ever from my paychecks to play with this stuff. I am just real good at finding deals and turnin a dollar on them. Anyhow thanks for your comments!!

Re: New Project truck!!
Man, I just stumbled onto this thread, and Now I want a sportside truck like that. And I thought I had finally cured myself from bringing stuff home when I finally found a 70 2wd Blazer (been looking for one for about 15 years)
Your truck is killer! but I'm sure its going to be a lot more fun with that BBC in there. |
Re: New Project truck!!

Got a start on the engine. Anyone know how to get to the top bolt on the serpentine bracket? I think I have to remove the pump to get there. The pulley has to come off to do this??
|
Re: New Project truck!!
Ah yes, PITA...If I recall correctly, you first have to remove the ps pump pulley in order to remove the bracket from the head. I've done it a few times on my '94.

Update!! Got the old engine out and the 2 seperated. Tore into the engine compartment and am trying sort out the wiring. CUT out alot of wires that I wont need.:metal: I plan to fill some of the extra holes in the firewall that I wont need such as winsheild wiper motor, Cruise, AC, heat etc etc. I may keep the heater core so I can atleast have a defrost. I must have cut 10 pounds of wiring out. Im going to rebuild the 350 and put it into my C2500 Daily driver.
