Rob, sorry no update yesterday. I had kid duty and my son wasn't feeling well. Here are some shots of the rocker and fuel filler fill in. Just about done with this side.

ebfabman 02-26-2009 07:20 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

LooseCannon, yes I welded 1/8 inch rod all the way down the edge of the door to close the gap.........Just kidding. I needed about an inch and a half of 3/16 at the "B" pillar about where the drip rail ends. The rest of the gap was good.

eb i love the work you do you are a master metal man.i would love to tear down a 64-66 cab and go the route you have on this one for rob.i know the only way to get a rustfree cab these days are to build one because the rustfree ones don't exist anymore.keep up the good work.

ebfabman 03-01-2009 07:37 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

:jdp: I haven't decided if eb's work motivates me or makes me want to give up on my own metal work. Either way it looks like awesome work. This is going to be a nice truck!

Eb is back to work on the cab... Here is a pic of the roof skin fit. We are goin to weld the seam solid along the back.

sourkraut 04-23-2009 05:59 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

are you going to weld the seam for looks or for strength. looking good!

rob32472 04-23-2009 06:02 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

Both...... mostly for looks.

Re: Project Cod Fish

Thanks for showing the work on the cowl area! Mine is in similar shape and I was wondering what to do with it. Your work just answered that questions!
Another question, where is the roof skin from? I need that too.
Thanks for all of the info.

rob32472 04-24-2009 10:53 AM

Re: Project Cod Fish

The skin came from Southern Kentucky Classics

idonutn0 04-24-2009 02:09 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

Thanks for the info on the roof skin. I just called them for pricing $175.00
How well is the fit compared to the stock roof?

Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for the info.

rob32472 04-24-2009 04:04 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

maybe EB will chime in as the pic is all the info i have

ebfabman 04-24-2009 04:54 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

Hey guys, yes the fit is pretty good. I'll know more this weekend when I get it final welded. Right now I'm working on the dash. Kinda tagging on a few things at once to get to a point where some epoxy primer can be sprayed. I want to spray the inside firewall, the back side of the dash, and the top of the cab, before the new skin goes on for good :)

All i can say is WOW to Ebs' metal work, i thought i was ok,at it and i do it for a living, but wow, very nicely finished. congrats!!!!! What do you use for a welder Eb, i see that you finish it in 80 grit and finer D/A, and what are you using to grind if you do not mind me asking, we all have our own little tricks.

Rob, here is the roof. A little tweaking, but the fit is pretty good. I think I will post this over in the other area for others who have asked about roof skins to see.
