Thanks! Yes, it's getting down to the wire. The DTS driveshaft should be in today or tomorrow and we're shooting for this weekend to get the bed on. A few more wiring connections to make under the dash and should be ready to do a final test on all circuits and fire it up.

Few more pics. The gauge panel is installed (sorry for the poor lighting) and the DTS Driveshaft arrived. Shooting for next week sometime to start it up.

Got the steering column in last night along with the Borgeson shaft and U-joints. She's gotten a little dusty over the winter, we'll have to give it a good once-over when it's done. Heading out in the morning to Custom Interiors by Thomas in Auburn, IN. Taking the door panels and headliner to have them covered to match the seat.

The bed is on and some Shell 93 octane is in the tank. Only a few things to finish up before we twist the key!

It'll be a head turner for sure! Hoping to fire it up and get it to the alignment shop late this week or early next... I'll post a video of a walk around pretty soon. Stay tuned.

Finished out the heater hoses and radiator hoses last night, and filled the cooling system with Be Cool's coolant. There's a lot of little things to finish, but the long weekend should help with the time crunch.

OK, so we had a rough weekend, but the C10 finally made it on the road. First time out, it would not shift out of first. Dropped the pan and pulled the valve body to inspect it. Every thing looked good so we reinstalled it and tried again, but still wouldn't shift. Luckily my parts warehouse distributor had a TCI valve body in stock, so off I went for about a 3hr round trip. Put the new one in and everything worked great. Put about 90 miles on it, and should get a few hundred in by Friday to change out the break-in oil and then it's off to a stop in Bowling Green, Kentucky to visit some family before heading to Concord, North Carolina to start the Power Tour. Still have to finish the interior this week and change out a leaking axle seal, but should be all set!

That may happen, looking at alternative routes to avoid the construction on I-65 South. Was considering going thru Jasper, IN to stop at ridetech.

We're Back! The Power Tour was an awesome experience. Our C10 ran great and handled extremely well. The last week leading up to the Tour was some pretty trying times... the trans wouldn't shift out of first, a leaking axle seal, and a few minor electrical gremlins. But all was sorted out just in time and had some amazing experiences on the trip. I'll be posting pics up over the next week or so. Just to let you in on a few highlights, we were on display at the Holley Performance booth in Knoxville, parked next to Hot Rod Magazine's Crusher Camaro and across from the Hotchkis E-Max Challenger. We were also invited by Rob and Brandy Phillips to do a write-up and share our experience with the Power Tour for pro-touring.com. Watch for a link to be posted soon!

Driving from Iowa to Wisconsin Dells, I had this 5th Gen Camaro and Dodge Challenger following me through a winding country road. They came up to me at the show afterwards and asked what I had under my truck to keep it so flat in the curves. It's moments like that when you know you're doing something right. To take a 40+ year old truck and make it keep up with a 2010 Camaro is an amazing thing.

Mike-

Too bad about the rim, but I would say over all it was a huge success. Can you get the rim fixed or do you need a new one? Just curious.

Congratulations on your accomplishment.

Marc

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck

I contacted the insurance company and they had no issues with replacing it. So looks like I'll have a trophy from the Power Tour!

Re: Project G-TR, Gearbox Garage Shop Truck

Truck came out great, sorry to hear about the rim damage but sounds like you will be getting a replacement easy enough. Congrats on getting it ready and driving the tour.
