I don't know why but it seems like it's hard to find a body shop that will replace the metal, so here is my scheme. When I need some rust repaired I tell them I just need the metal replaced and sealed and not to add filler because it's going to be a while before I have it painted. That way after their work I can bring it home and remove the sealer and find out if they are liars or not. I do this because I flat out don't trust them to do the job right, it seems like everyone is just out to rip people off these days and over promise and under deliver. I don't trust anyone that hasn't earned it, that's just me though. |
Re: 70 Short Stepside
I have known Rick, the painter for a long time. He is straight up and takes a lot of pride in his work. I understand what goes on out there, but I don't think I have much to worry about. But, just in case, I stop by pretty regular. ;)

Yes it is hard to find trust worthy people especially in body and paint for some reason.

Re: 70 Short Stepside
Getting the wiring done. I started the truck with the key yesterday. :metal:
Ordered a lot of small parts today. Dropped off the rest of the body parts at the painter. |

Re: 70 Short Stepside
Not sure how I missed this one. Major progress in less than a year. Looking good and love the story! I think that's one of the things that makes these truck so cool.
