Here is my 82. I got it from my Dad this spring. It is finally in the paint shop for bodywork and paint. I'm removing the drip rails and C10 logos, adding a chrome tailgate name panel and maybe adding a white pinstripe. I'm staying with the blue and white (still trying to figure out what the blue colour is). The body side mouldings may be changed to newer versions of the same or else the chrome Silverado ones. Wheel arch trims may or may not be replaced/reinstalled. Seeing all the other units on this thread as well as the previous one is helping me with some of my decisions.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II
We tend to get 2-4ft of snow in the winter, just never know when it will attack.
Last year we had 4ft by now, this year only about 2ft which is down to 1ft already, may get a lot more in Feb to March, always a mystery. |

Here is my new to me 1986 4x4. I just purchased this truck from Arizona and I am having it shipped to michigan. I have not even seen it in person yet but the owner and my nephew that checked it out for me assured me it is rust free and in great shape.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Long Beds Part II
pointer80, a few years back craigslist was full of these year trucks being parted out in Phoenix Az., I even parted out an 1982 for the all the emissions stuff just incase I was failed with any part of mine. I have to have it done every year and the elephant gets a dyno ride and put out some big numbers...:bann:
I have had the elephant going on 20 years and well into 350,000 miles on the chassis, on its third motor a couple years ago, several TH400 trannys, current motor is a 383 low end torque motor, World Product heads (18 years on those) full roller cam and rockers, Hughes tow transmission, no catalytic converters 8600 GVWR, Cab chassis when purchased new by the City of Phoenix and never been in an accident, may sell it some day.... - - http://i59.tinypic.com/33061cj.jpg - - - http://i61.tinypic.com/35lrqiw.jpg - - http://i62.tinypic.com/25kr03q.jpg - - - |

Nice rims Zigy, what size are they and what tire size are you running. I noticed your dash has an insert that doesn't look stock, do you know where it is from, who makes it.

New member. Bought this 82 2wd from a guy down the block a few months ago who was letting it go to seed. Plan on fixing it up, using it to haul motorcycles to rallies, and then give it to my grandson (who is three, so I will have lots of time to get her looking good). My mechanical aptitude is mostly limited to motorcycles, but these seem pretty simple to work on.
It has a 350 crate motor, Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 bbl, Headman headers, sm465 with bad synchros and a worn input shaft bearing, and Mickey Thompson 33X 12.5 15 tires (which will be replaced shortly with 235/75 R 15 Goodyear Wranglers.) There is a very mild lift kit installed which I will eventually remove. My wife hates it, the neighbors laugh at it, and I love to drive it! |

The rims are 18" moto metal wheels with 33" nokian tires. The dash pad is new and I got the insert your asking about from LMC truck. I hope that helps |

Out for a photo shoot the other day around the Comox area. Fresh wash and tire-shine. I just put Edelbrock Elite Series Valve Covers and an Air Cleaner on it, as well as an EGR Delete. She's freshly out of the shop with new Control Arm Bushings and Brakes. Riding like she's new!
