Thanks Guys! A little more done today. I was first a little hesitant to do these, but actually they're pretty darn easy. I did watch a tutorial video first, which did make it easier as well.
Rebuilt the wing windows! Pat |
Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
Late to the party, but i'll be following along for the rest of the build. Really nice work so far!

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
That is gorgeous !!!!!!!! Wish I had one. All the blazers in Tennessee are very rusty. Hard to find one in that shape. Love it:cong:

Man....we can't wait to get back to Tennessee for our next visit. We have a daughter that lives in Alabama, so we always fly into Nashville. Would love to find a place out there, but we still have ties here too. Isn't there a big Chevy show in Pigeon Forge? Pat |

It's a long video, but gives you some great tips. It makes it very easy, and it really wasn't too hard at all to complete the task. Pat |

Pretty much complete now.
Of course we all know it's never truly done. I do want to install my gear vendor and attempt to make that work. For now though, I will be repairing the top now, and get it back on the Jimmy. I will be looking for recommendations on top repairs. Hopefully I'll find something in the search category. Pat |

Out of sequence, but I did want to show the door panels.
The foam around the edge is the original that I took off. I just had to utilize contact cement to put it back on. The white panel foam was found underneath of the old carpeting that I removed. Plus a few pics of the underside of the original panels & the arm rest. The panels were in such good shape, I chose not to replace them with reproduction. There just comes a point of when to stop! I'll live with the scratched wood grain. I would like to find an original for the passenger side, as the wood grain is worn through in a few places. Pat |

Great job Pat! Cup holder looks slick. Thanks for the build thread. Can I have the step side? :)

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
Really nice work.
I have the Chevy twin to this K5 in storage. White / Blue CST. You're motivating me to get it out of storage and get to work on it when I return to San Diego. |

Not many options for cup holders for these old trucks, so I just made something up. Actually, it works pretty darn good. Pat |

Also noticed the starting instruction while installing my sun visors. I would think this must be original...???? Pat |
Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
Congrats on a job well done. Yep that’s the GM engine start decal found on 72 model trucks. What’s the next project?

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
Wow, you did a great job on this rig. Thanks for sharing it in a build thread. Have you got threads going on your other projects? I would enjoy looking in.

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build
Glad you got the 62 back. What an ordeal that must have been. I was actually wondering about what precautions I’d take to prevent theft if I do a trip in my Blazer after reading about your hunting trip. In Albuquerque I’d never let my trucks out of sight even with an anti-start Bosch relay setup.

Problem is....even where I live, I really don't feel comfortable leaving it in any parking lot. I can't take it down to the bike trail parking lots, but I do feel pretty good about taking it to the gym. Absolutely sucks that we have to worry so much about the frigging thieves! Pat |
