Original is good ! .

Just don't fall into the retarded ' patina ' trap ~ rust never ,EVER sleeps so those fools who do this , are destroying their trucks , just wait and see .

I think I would find a paintless dent repair guy that does it for the dealerships. They have some special tools that make it almost unnoticeable on the newer cars with thin metal. On an old truck I doubt that even they can make it perfect partly because the metal is heavier and harder to work. And they are usually working with door ding type dents that don't stretch the metal as much as bigger dents.

Yeah, that is a good point, and the place where the crease is on both the door and fender are not ideal..

When I say it's gonna stay this way for awhile, for me that means until such time as I finish Trippin Hazard and Park Service both of which are moving along albeit slowly.. "Trippin is nearly a roller with extreme dropmember mockup almost done"

Does your Subruban look nice ? .

YES indeedy ! :metal: .

However , leaving exposed oxidation will ruin it in a few short years .

You might not care because you'll move on to whatever new is cool by then but I worked on these rigs when they were new and as plentiful as Toyotas are now .
If you're willing to destroy it to look cool in front of strangers , I suspect you maybe don't really like old trucks that much .

Them's the facts Jack .

I *do* think your rig looks nice , maybe preserve it by clear coating the rust ? .

That's the thing, mine is fake. No one knows unless I tell them. I can sand that off and do something else if I want.

Good luck finding OE 15x8 wheels, I've been looking for about 2 and a half years now. Like Jack said, you're better off just buying repros. Probably save you time and money.

They're out there, I found a set about 7 years ago on eBay. An army surplus guy had a bunch of NOS ones. I have 2 left that I was holding onto but now that they are reproduced ....
