Thanks guys! I'm fortunate to have a good friend like Ernie (BuckSS) motivating me and helping out. I borrowed a set of blocks from Ernie to get it up in the air so it's easier to work on. So I've been bolting stuff on and checking clearances. I'm going to have to rework my CPP trannly mount due to the design of the 6L80 tail shaft mounting pad, but I think I've got it figured out (just need to do some cutting and welding). My original shifter lever/linkage almost works as is. I just need to do some tweaking after motor and tranny are bolted down for good. Headers couldn't fit any more perfect, a big BZ to Doug Thorley!!!! The factory 6L80 pan hangs down pretty low, so I found a pan off of a Caddy STsV (pan part # 24239528/filter 24252158) that is a lot thinner and will bring it up about 1".

The factory tranny lines are going to work like a champ too, :metal:. Also, the Cadillac CTsV oil pan did me right again, I love how it fits the crossmember and it works great with either CPP motor mounts or ECE motor mounts. Enough rambling, here are some pictures.

PS I talked to John at Speartech and will be ordering my harness after the holiday weekend. I've "bugged" him a bunch, but he's always taken the time to answer my questions.

Ernie was the "motorvation" on that, :metal:.

I'm still test fitting parts and pieces, but it's coming together. I went to the parts store and picked up a bunch of radiator hoses (they thought I was nuts,), but I didn't want to make 10 trips back...:D. Any way, I found an upper that works perfect! I alsot go one for the lower, but I'm not really happy with it, so I'll keep looking. How do you like my "six-pack" holder?, just having a little 4th of July fun, enjoy!!!:metal:

Not quite. It's running, driving. Not shifting out of whatever gear it's in (I think third, limp mode). Got a vacuum leak I have to hunt down. Idles pretty high (1400rpm in park/neutral. 700 rpm in reverse and drive). I've got very little boosted brakes, but when I turn off the engine and pull the hose from the booster there appears to be plenty of vacuum. I know it's a leak though because I can hear the squeek squeek. Can't seem to find it with carb cleaner or starter fluid though.

Sounds like you are making progress. Hopefully you'll get it figured out soon. Do you have any pics? I would really like to see the placement of your motor as well as how you mounted your gas pedal.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I took some pics before, just haven't gotten them off the phone to post for you yet. It's pretty far forward. I could easily move it back if I decided to shorten the driveshaft. I may do that later as the front space between the engine and electric fans is very tight. The linkage worked great, just had to drill a couple of new holes to move the frame bracket down some. I'll get you some pics later on today or tomorrow.
