Continued working on my interior... At some point when we get warmer weather I will start the process of fiberglassing the boxes and covering the center console with carpet and material. The boxes will hold 2 6.5" speakers as well as a 10" sub.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Youngrodder, looks great! the top looks like aluminum are you going to polish it?

As for the top it is aluminum. I chose that because I could easily bend it to follow the contour of the console. I plan to cover in in foam then wrap it in material. I have few ideas on finsishing details to pull it all together...that's the plan anyway.. Marc |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Marc,
Looks great...but all the stuff you do comes out nice. What is holding those behind-the-seats pieces in place? Will they have a "face" on the front? If they do will there be access to the interior for storage, or inthose cornered pieces either? |
Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

The pieces will be pressed into place. The way the cab sides fit there is not much movement. The face of the boxes will be constructed out of fiberglass. I will then wrap the console and boxes in the same material as the rest of my interior. Once wrapped this will all fit together and all of pieces will hold each other in place. I have not come up with a solution for an access door yet but I would like to use the back area as well as the console for storage. Marc |

made2drag,
I understand, as we all do, your intent but there was once a better life before the lady in the McDonalds drivethrough spilled her coffee. Here's a good read for all of us: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=478687 |
Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Today was not a great day. Wheel bearings on passenger front are bad. Too bad to drive it home. :-( The bright side is that I ordered a set of upgraded tapered bearings!

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
We bought a brand new car seat and I used the seat belt hooks on the side. The base (which is currently in the minivan in the back seat) Does allow for the carseat to bounce up. I have a hard time believing that the manufacturer would put seatbelt hooks on the side of the car seat if it was that unsafe... I will probably use the base from now on. Thanks for your concern.

So with that said... We all take on risk related to not having new safety technologies in our old rides... We like them and so we drive them even when there is a safer alternative (5 star safety minivan). People die of heart attacks because they watch too much tv and aren't active and suffer from obesity. I want to teach my boy to have a productive hobby and get him out from the tv. Posted via Mobile Device |
