haha...thanks. Yeah sucks, but I don't mind paint issues. If it had been a hair lighter I'd probably just left it alone.....but its noticeable. Much easier than frame work and yanking engines.

But I agree.....does look good.

Project "Two tone" sound familiar? lol! Yeah that sucks...but at least ya didn't end up painting the bed and hood as well. I like the darker blue to though. :chevy:

Yeah....im really torn between the two myself. And I thought about project two tone sitting by the truck yesterday.....had to chuckle to myself some as I banged my head on the wall.

And yes....luckily I didn't paint the hood too. Ill respray the front end since the cab and interior match already and still have the bed to do.

Ok...paint update.....picked up paint form the old guys at the new store. So we should be back in business. Ill pull the grill support and fender this week and get them right by next weekend.

Man I hate having to do stuff over like that. I had just finished my paint job when I knocked over the spray gun (with the lid off) and threw paint all over the back of the truck!

Your truck sure does look nice, getting really close to being able to take it out for a cruise!

Thanks Markeb01 for the compliments and stopping in on the build updates.....hate to hear your paint problem also, but we'll get it right. Picked up the paint yesterday and we are expecting rain all week, so good time to pull the fenders and core back off and prep them for paint later this week or weekend.

And looking forward to a nice long cruise once the engines broke in.

Had to mow a few acres last night, so truck work was minimal. Didn't have time to complete fender removal so I started on the inner door panel inserts. Used a good tape, but still had some minor bleed through on the lines, but it'll clean up nicely. Most of the stuff in the pic is glare from the light. Started on cleaning up the lines this a.m. and i'll get it done tonight. I think the solid panels are just too much inside the cab, so doing the white inserts on the door panels and glovebox door.

1st panel sprayed and i'll be on the 2nd tonight.

Very happy with the color of white on the blue. Went with "classic white". The seat has the white center stripe also so should look great installed and will definitely break up the solid blue inside the cab.

The fenders and core looked real good to bad the color was off a little. The white on the door panel is a nice breakup and will look good!

Thanks for the compliments. I have some clean up on the lines for the two tone, but no biggie. Really made a big difference.

Front end although time consuming and a bummer will pan out in the long run. I hate going forward in reverse....but my OCD won't let it ride like it is, so definitely getting repainted. Nice thing is at least the body work is done on the front end!!

Sounds good TJ. Be sure to get some pics up. I sure wish someone could make a removable template for the glove box and door inserts......

Man I know that paint pisses you off. I hope the new paint works out better.

Not to bad eric. I new it was a gamble since it wasnt the same supplier, just hoped the color would have been closer. Got the right stuff now, so small detour, but back on it. Hows your truck coming? I need to come check it out one of these days.

I got the parts for the front end in last week, but I had prior plans. I spent a couple of days learning to weld and welding aluminum. I am planning on spending some time redoing the front end next weekend. Then the motor and trans mock-up.

Got the edges cleaned up and I think it turned out pretty good. One panel down, and one to go. The lighting doesn't help the pics any as the colors are much brighter in person.

But definitely happy with the outcome....

Heres a pic of the finished passenger side compared to the driver side. Again...color is off due to the lighting inside.

Not much new to report. Got the driver side inner door panel painted & drying as of this morning. Will pull the glove box this pm and paint that as well. Rain in the forecast for the weekend, so I'll work on the front end getting repainted then since the rain has killed my turkey hunt this weekend.

I sure like the two tone door panels. Those are really going to make the interior pop!

Thanks a bunch Marke.....they are no fun to tape off with the bends they have, but it sure is worth the time and effort.

Inner panels done. I am thrilled with the new look. My camera isn't the best...it makes the lines look funny, but they came out great!!

Had a productive night last night. Got the framed door glass painted, seat tracks are done and the glove box door is sitting in paint as we speak, so should be able to unmask it all tonight. Goal this weekend is to finish the doors....glass and vents installed and new beltline all the way around for both doors and remove and paint the front end.

Carpet and seat if time allows.

That makes two of us TJ. Be nice to have the doors completed so I can remove the moving blankets covering the window openings. Be nice to hose off the cab also.

A lot done this weekend. Shifted gears in a little different direction and got the cab sealed up and I can now lock the doors also. Carpet and all under seat hardware mounted. Doors and glass complete (minus pass ext trim and mirror). Door panels and glovebox panel reinstalled. Driver side ext trim installed. And seat in....

I really like the metal lined glass. This set came out a 61. Little harder to install since more painted parts, but looks great in.

More of trim install. Doors hanging out just a tad due to new cab seals. Hope they'll compress enough in the next few weeks.

Thanks Jamie. The whole project has been built and painted under that carport. So I've gotten real lucky with the paint.

Whole truck is covered in a nice layer of NC pine pollen also. Need to get out and do a major cleaning. Especially the glass inside and out.

Upper and lower radiator hoses ordered from Napa today and just picked up the new shoes and cylinders for the rear. Have a stack of drums, so will drop two off to get turned.
