love the gauges jim, they look like electroluminescent. I bought a focus SVT for my daughter that had EL lighting, and I worked in aerospace where EL was a standard for instrument panel labels. It is very clear and no hots spots! I love how they match the truck too.

Thanks joe, I'm real happy with the change, can't wait to get truck back together, so I can enjoy them.

Are those Speedhut Jim? It's important to have good looking instruments when you spend time behind the wheel. The backlit numbers at night is a nice touch.

EDIT: I just went back and read the previous page and saw that the gauges were indeed from Speedhut. I'm running their GPS speedo too, it's awesome...

Mark, I saw what you had Speedhut do for your speedo, that was really cool. I guess I should have talked with them more, I could have maybe made mine a little nicer. But I'm happy...Jim

Good choise on the gauges, specially when they light up.
Great match!

And Yes, I’m with Ray, everything okay??

Thanks Kees, I appreciate it, and I'm OK, just need to get going on sanding...Jim

Jim, didn't want to stir anything up. Just worried because you hadn't posted any updates! Sounds like you have it under control. Later Ray

Well, I got a couple pics to show. Got both doors done by hand with 2,000 paper, and today used the palm sander DA with 3,000 and 5,000 pads. Then I used a new wool pad to buff with the stage 1 material. Doors still need to be buffed with stage 2 and stage 3 material. I'm happy so far with how it looks...Jim

I also use Wizards products, I've had really good luck with them over the years.

Paint is looking great!

Aren't you worried that there won't be any paint left after all that sanding and buffing?

Seriously, it looks great.

Thanks 8man.

Good question, I've always put on enough paint, that with the sanding I still have at least two coats of paint remaining. That's why some painter put on 5 coats of clear, because they are going to sand and buff at least two coats off...Jim

Well, between Mark and I we finished steps 2 and 3 on the doors. Then we reinstalled the seat, put on the steering wheel. and installed the drivers door.

With the door installed the pic doesn't do it justice, it has a great shine.

Here's a few pics...Jim

Had a productive afternoon today. Mark and I installed the pass. door. It looks great (see pic) I hooked up the power windows, so their working again.

Mark wet sanded the bumper with 2-3-5000 paper, and then buffed in out, looks great. (see close up pic).

I reinstalled the hood rubber on the cowl, and cleaned up area. I then wet sanded the splash apron with 2-3-5000 paper, still needs to be buffed. (see pic)

Here's a few pics.

Smooth and straight panels! The reflection of the light bulbs doesn’t have any bend or wave. Nice!

Back in the shop today, and finished both fenders with 3,000 and 5,000. Next step is to buff it out. Will be a day or two. Here's a couple pics, doesn't look much different that before, but it sure is (see close up)...Jim
