Well day 4 of my 14 day quarantine..... started out hooking up the rest of the wiring under the dash, installed glove box and heater switches. I don’t know if any of you have or had an issue with your heater valve at your heater core froze up with rust... but mine was and bad!
Looked all over on the internet and found a guy who rebuilds them. He wanted 119$ plus shipping. Not a bad price but I decided to give it a shot. Put it in a paint mixing jar and let it soak for several hours pulling it out every once in a while to run a tiny brush through every crevice I could. After soaking and a little PB blaster it moved again. It was hanging up and I noticed an adjustment screw so I adjusted it. Works great now! Man it feels good when you run into an issue like that and you find a fix without spending $’s! Then I started welding 12 bolt holes on the passenger door from Grandpa’s mirrors gone wild days! Then started to put some body filler on. Got some work still on the door but it’s starting to look good. Posted via Mobile Device |

Still collecting parts for my '63 Burb build.
But I did get my 17s 5x5 rims drilled with clips installed. I then prepped and painted them body color in my "Pig Barn Shop" I will eventually be running 3" wide whites but since I am not completely sure of the final tire size I bought some cheap rollers online and had my local shop mount them to the painted wheels. |

Those look nice. I just got my rally wheels power coated white and can’t wait to see how they look on the truck. I would love to know when you get the white walls where you get them from. I have had a hard time finding white walls for a 17” wheel.

Download and scroll through their catalog - but definitely either call them or send an email before making any purchase as they can help out with items that don't show in the catalog. I used them for my Caddy build |
Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV
Are they the ones that can make custom tires? More than I want to spend on something that I will probably run into a curb. I probably need curb finders. Vary nice cady by the way

A few weeks ago, I was getting ready for a camping trip that we went on and decided that I wanted to get a few things done to make the trip a little better for us. I started with the radiator overflow - washer reservoir.
Next up was the cable operated kick panel vents that had been under my house for at least a few years. Thanks Michael Bustamante! |

Next up was the Warn steps. As we've gotten older, the wife hasn't felt like jumping up into the truck like she used to. Bad knees. I wanted to make it a little easier for her (and me ) to get in to the truck but wanted a lower profile step.
I had a set of these on a crew cab years ago and really liked them. Well built, rubber coated and stamped with the Warn logo. Well, I went to try and find them only to find out that Warn hadn't made them for a number of years at that point. Ended up finding a set on EB and snatched them up. They give the right amount of drop for us yet aren't hanging too low.. Passenger rocker is solid too. Had to add the drivers side rocker to my list. One step forward and 2 - 1/2 back. Oh well. The steps work great! |
