Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

I know this is not a home remodel site but I'm feeling good about being finished and the wife is happy so that means some garage time will not be frowned upon.
I have not be procrastinating as you can see. But now I get to disappear and hide in the garage until a new honey do list emerges.

Thanks buddy.

I'm so happy to be done with this thing I don't know what to do. I did not get to touch the truck for months.

Don't let your wife see this. Women have lots of plans with your money and time.lol

In all honesty it really needed to be done. I think it's bought me a couple of months in the garage before she has any more bright ideas.

Nice work Kabwe.

We all have to fall on the sword every now and then unless we want to live in our garages permanently.

Very nice work. You should feel proud about the results.

Now get back out in the garage, before you turn into an interior designer.

The bathroom looks excellent BAM,

Wait till she has the thought "you know, the bathroom looks great honey. I bet WE can make the kitchen look even better"

LOL, thats how I get drug into those kinda things, its always "WE" until the work starts then it's "I am busy with this today but I will help out tomorrow".

All kidding aside, I am sure she is very pleased with it.

Kabwe, nice job on the bathroom. You have to keep them happy. I just painted and put wainscoting for the back splash and on a wall in our kitchen. Although she still does not seem happy! They never are! Now get back in the garage and work on the truck.

Well, that tears it. Bam IS an interior designer!

But seriously, it looks very well done. What's the first thing you'll get back to on the truck? I seem to remember (distantly) that you had done some final painting.

Yeah I thought that many times myself, but I know me. Every time I look at it, it would bother the heck out of me. So I spend a little more time. Its be down this long so what difference does it make is how I look at it.lol

There you go with the jokes.lol Plus your memory is shot. I'm having a block party at my house. I have to get the body work smooth as glass before I even think paint. What is under the paint is more important than the paint itself. A small imperfection will be magnified once painted.

I was wondering. A mind is a terrible thing isn't it.lol
I shaved the doors and installed the bearclaws latches in reverse because I want the solenoid in the cab corner instead of at the bottom of the door. I will have to come up with some kind of manual pull for opening the door from the inside without a remote control. I have ideas but I'm going to keep that to myself until I'm sure it works and looks decent.

Thanks Bam,, the inside opening what is I was concerned with,, I have seen some kind of magnetic hood opening latches but didn't know how it was done. I then thought about maybe some kind of push button on the back side of the cab just around the backside un-seen from the side.. it will be a while before I even try it,, I really want the one piece side window, but want the bear claw latches,, there is not much room for both,,I'm really tire of slamming my doors and I have good factory latches!
I really lost most if not all of my mind....... I'm building a ls6 72 Vega:lol:
