The bed's looking good! I'd say keep the wheels for the stepper/fleet. Can't wait to see pics of the whole truck all put together!

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Thanks man. We are expecting the other bedside any day now and I painted the rear panel on Sat so were almost ready to just bolt it all back together.

Getting really close fellas.. we have the bed to finish up, hang the Magnaflows, install the door panels, arm rests and just an overall cleaning ... and this one is ready for the HRPT.

We're cutting the bed wood to length and misc bolt holes.. getting close! I ordered some 2" blocks from Boris, don't worry.. :D She's comin on down a little more, and the trac bar still needs to be centered up.

I also got some 3/8 spacers from Billet Specialties. I think the rear wheels need to come out just a little. This would put me at 5 5/8 BS. I think it will look much better.

Hopefully next weekend.. I ordered all the rest of what I needed for the interior last night and we just need to install the emergency brake cable and some other detailing ( other than the bed, taillights, bumper and tailgate etc.

Its going on the HRPT if I have to take it like it is now.. :).

I've gotten through half the pages and couldn't take the suspense so I jumped to the end to see where it is headed. Simply Amazing!

I'm early in my process, but I am itching to get started. Thanks for all the updates. You've created a masterpiece and I hope you actually drive it around... the world deserves to enjoy it too.

Now, back to page 20 where I left off.

Thanks for all the compliments fellas :). I'm expecting 5 shipments in the next couple days so it's all day Sat and well see what happens. If we have another day like last Sat we will be driving it to the muffler shop. :metal:

Interesting that you replaced the header with cinder blocks. Not seen that done before. :smoke:

 that's the tailgate actually.. custom painted to look like concrete blocks.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Nice detail... Your airbrush artist even put the underside of a creeper, leaned against the blocks in that custom painted tailgate. That takes some thoughtful planning and skill to pull off. :haha:

5 shipments? This is likely the only time I'll ever say this again, but I can't wait for Monday... I want to see more updates!

Ive been trolling CL for months now. Im just looking for a 69-72 SWB. drive train doesnt matter because its going to be swapped out later. Little to no rust. paint dont matter. im not looking to spend more than 5500 as well. I also just wanted to say thank you as well.

I'm in Nashville and I have a 71 GMC fleet side that currently is a long bed but I will be converting it to a short bed soon, it will be in your price range. PM me if you are interested, I don't want to high jack Chad's build tread.
