gage dont stir the pot dude...
you'll just bring up **** |
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
I can tell you this from my own experience...don't **** in your own nest, it will just cause you trouble, If you learn now to avoid unnecessary conflict you will save yourself alot of fights and BS, you could spend the time working on your truck rather than trying to be a tough guy, I never lost a fight but I still don't think I am a tough guy...I did back then and it got me no where...just some advise

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
I have been away from this forum for quite sometime..... what caught my "eye" is the "Yenko" theme you have chosen for your project.
I live "minutes" from the original Yenko Chevrolet showroom which was located in Canonsburg, PA. Living so close I was able to see many of the infamous CPO "Super Cars" that were put together there and also at the new/larger location Yenko moved to on Route 19 (currently Sun Chevrolet). Sun Chevrolet took over the Yenko Chevy franchise in the early '80's. Another sad "commentary" on the extinction of the "muscle car era. :( (ps: my avitar is a picture of an original black & chrome (metal) "Yenko emblem" that was used on cars Yenko sold before the more "common" "red - white & blue" style emblem) |
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
well i bought some 1 3/4 headers and some 2 1/2 in dynomax bullets for an amazing 10 bucks!!! the headers are about two months old and came from summit (80 dollars new) but they are BBC headers
and the dynomax bullets are only 2 weeks old ill get some pics up later |
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
so what set of mufflers are you on?
|
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
those headers look more than 2 months old to mee, as far as the little glasspacs...they will be very loud, as much as time as I have seen you waste on mufflers and exhaust you could have bought and installed a system or had a local shop hook you up for about 200$, the truth is exhaust is the least thing you need to worry about, if you run it open pipes you will loose alot of low end, but should run high speeds well, you need a certain amount of backpressure for things to work right, I am building a 2 1/4 mandrel bent system for my 62 with an x pipe and two magnaflows exit rear behind the wheel, the whole system I will have less than 200$ into and about a day or 2 welding and cutting pipe, If I was you I would quit wasting time on exhaust and carbs and get the truck together..you had such a great start...now you are stalled...get that old truck on the road !!
|
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
no those are 2 months old
2 very hard months and the mufflers are actually quiet i put them on last night |
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
Did you put the glass packs on the right way, the little baffle things aren't supposed to catch the exhaust coming through?
|
Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"
