Jerry does a lot of work for magazines in Holland. |

Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed
Thanks guys!!
I've got a question for you: I can get some vintage Slotmags for free, 15 x 7. There are only two.... Should I mount them on the back of the truck and maybe look for some to match on the front? Or keep the steelies?? Can't remember seeing slotmags on a Taskforce.... So if you have some pics to show for reverence, please post them here? Thanks!! |
Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed
If the truck were mine I would keep the steelies. Could just me me as I was never a fan of slots, even back in the 1970's when they were all the rage.

Stick with the steelies with maybe a cap like these?
|
Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed
I've thought about the wheels....
I'll stick with the steelies Maybe a bit wider front and back to have a bit more meat to look at. Future plans..... And we're planning a trip to the Hot Rod Hayride in Engeland, July 2017 :metal: Three and a half days of pre '65 Hot rods and good old Rock n Roll  |
Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed

If you never heard of it you should take a look at youtube, lots of nice videos ;) I finally have my headliner complete in. Had the inside roof insulated, made 4 wooden bars to hold the wooden plate, at which I screwed the lisence plates on. The plate is screwed on the 4 bars, see it as a lockjaw, a free floating headliner. It's stuck tho ;) I tried to turn the pics, but that doesn't work? Pic #1: insulated and 2 of 4 bars installed Pic #2 cardboard template of the wooden headliner, this took a while to get it right... Pic #3 Wooden plate painted, ready to go in pic #4 finished Hot Rod heaven, difficult to take a picture with that backlight... |
Re: Dutch '59 Fleetside Longbed
Very cool headliner!
