Appreciate the heat on this thread. Always love to see new picks of trucks in period.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Hate to see the wrecks. One of them reminds me too much of my '67 SWB Fleetside.
I am astonished by the cherry-picker! Nowadays, you "need" a 2-ton truck with dual rear wheels and stabilizers for that job. |

Re: Vintage picture thread
Seeing these old wrecks is really sobering when you think about that very few people used seat belts then. And the state of trauma care was nowhere near as good as today's.
On a different note the first photo in post 1029 appears to have been developed with the negative flipped. The stop sign is on the wrong side and the truck is damage is 180 degrees from the next photo. I wasn’t able to determine how the wreck happened from the photos. Truely sad to see the C10 totaled but the Lemans too. :whine: |

Re: Vintage picture thread
The photo with the deer shows an interesting ball hitch attached to the center of the front bumper. Very useful around trailers and implements, such as boat ramps and farms.
Throwing that deer up on the hood reveals the utilitarian nature of trucks: the owner isn't worried about the shine of his paint. |

The red 72 K10 shorty is my Dad's. The various pics are from the early to mid 70's after he bought it on trips into Mexico.
