I have one, it's not in the best of shape but the housing is workable. The flap works and there's no rust through, but the tubes on the heater core are smashed. The fan spins but I haven't tested it to see if it works. I'm about 100 miles away from Loganville, I could meet you halfway. Whatever you think it's worth and some gas money is good enough for me. http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...381109B59B.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...3815D067E1.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...38028BA10B.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...3807BEF7EE.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...380C7A2693.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...381A9A29A8.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/s...381F0C2128.jpg |

Re: 198Plus build
Started my brake lines yesterday and run into problems right off the bat. I done a disc brake swap a couple years ago and bought my calipers for a 72 1.25 rotor and found out they had sold me a metric caliper. So I went to NAPA today to get the correct calipers and got lucky they swapped the old calipers out even though I didn't have a receipt from 2 years ago. So hopefully I get get the brake lines finished now......Spring is coming and I'm ready to ride this year hopefully.:lol:

Re: 198Plus build

Re: 198Plus build
Glad your keeping busy Ronnie. I'm in the same position, but a much smaller scale. Never have time to work on the truck. I go in spurts, then it sits again. :uhmk:
Alan, you guys are a match in heaven. Ronnie, open another shop in Ball Ground. :metal: |
Re: 198Plus build
Next he'll have a TV reality show. Happiness is a full shop.:metal:

Hi guys, my name is Tom Shaw I am the one that just purchased Ronnie's truck. I wanted to let everyone know I got it home last night and tucked away. I will try to keep everyone updated on the progress. I can only hope to continue the great work that's been done to this truck already. I'm sure I'll be asking for help in the near future. It's a big relief that Alan is just down the road from me. I'm sure I'll be giving you a call in the near future.
Thanks again Ronnie |
Re: 198Plus build
Congrats on the purchase, Tom. I noticed it for sale the other day.
Welcome to the forum. You wouldn't happen to be from Longview, TX would you? I had a Tom Shaw work for me at my previous job and he moved out the GA area. |
Re: 198Plus build

Re: 198Plus build
Thanks guys, no I'm originally from IL on the border of Iowa.
I have to be honest I was nervous about buying the truck just because I am afraid I'll screw it up. Alan and Ronnie have done incredible things with this truck. I have a hard time with patience but I think I'll have to learn some on this. |
Re: 198Plus build
Welcome aboard Tom, glad your gonna continue the build. Your right, your not far from me.
