Not all utility seats are created equal!!! There is a height difference caused by the rear bracket. Passenger side seat doesn't look to bad for being 37 years old. Recovering in the future if I can find the correct matrl.

If you are looking for that exact material that is already on the seats SMS auto fabrics has it, I bought some fabric to do my regular buckets and they sent that stuff by mistake.

Thanks Red...Here's some pics of the last of the mechanical side problems solved on the cooling system. Someone really did their engineering on these three parts, tight fit but it all works. ARP came thru with the 3 1/2" studs (3/8" course,fine) 12 point flanged nuts w/ washers today. They also sent the bolts for my fuel pump

I may have missed the point of why you are putting all this cool stuff on the front of your engine....it's very High-techy or NASA-esque. either way I like it.

I called a company that does only suspensions today and they said it would be no problem to get a new leaf. $45 plus bolts, sounds good, but I'm still a little concerned about an uneven stance. On the other hand, it is the second to the shortest leaf, so it may not make a difference. The price for a new leaf is much more economical than a new pair of springs. So to answer your question...I still have no idea. :lol: |

Got todo a little work on the fuel pump the other day. Found out that paint stripper helps remove baked on 37 year old gaskets the PO never took down to bare metal. Also, seems like my fuel filter needed adapters that has o-rings in it, all the fittings I tried were sloppy, lucky for me the local hydraulic shop knows what he is talking about.
The bend in the fuel hose is a little tight, just starting to collapse, so I plan to buy a spring to reinforce that. Weird thing is, my main fuel line is 5/16" and the fuel pump is 3/8" Also, I found out that if you use assembly lube on the fuel pump drive shaft it will keep it up in the block while you install the fuel pump Make sure your engine is at the proper rotation, so the shaft is as far up in the block as it will go, makes it easier to assemble the fuel pump http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace827.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace828.jpg |

Got a delivery from the brown truck
Oil pump primer 3/8" aluminum tubing and fittings AN wrenches Had to play with the parts rite away and found out you can't bend over 90 degrees w/o a spring to support the tubing, but this stuff bends really easy, cool stuff Tech Dept. helped me find the adapter to the carb with a male AN-6, nuts and sleeves make this a super easy hook up. I couldn't justify spending 100 bucks for the flaring tool(using it only 3 times) so I called my local hydraulic hose shop and he said he would flare the tubing to 37 degrees. The lenght of the tubing at the carb is wrong, waiting to find out how much room he needs for his flaring tool Oh yeah, SMS sent me samples of the grain, looks to be right on. Thanks Tim...just got the samples in the mail from SMS, exact match on the embossing, about 50 bucks a yard was the quote for the material. Don't know if they charge more for the embossing
Anyway, headed up into the mountains for the youngest sons bachelor party(wedding next week) He wants, guns, clay pigeons, fishing, 4WD's, ATV's, and Dirt bikes for his party. Looks like I raised another one right:lol: Looks like I'll be the Safety Manager, since there will be beer there. I'll get a chance to drink my whiskey after the shooting stops!!! |
