I would think the Monte Carlo is pretty close to being the same as the Chevelle. I just did what fit best for my situation. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Another "I just found this thread and read through the whole thing" post. I am very impressed with some of the subtle (and not so subtle) mods that you chose to make and have taken away plenty of ideas for my own build. That hood sectioning mod blew me away!
One question I have though, what is this tool for? You said you made it when you were filling holes in the cab. My only guess would be you cover the hole with the copper section and weld against it helping you fill in the hole? Am I even remotely close? haha http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1391886324 Looking forward to seeing the truck in paint. Keep up the good work! Trevor. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thats a great tool idea Kim, you should patent it.... I tried to have my wife be my backup aluminum plate holder while doing my cab holes.... "sparks are flying everywhere!!!" she says.... I told her thats welding!;)
She would have gladly bought me one of your tools!!!! lol |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
That tool might be handy with magnets on both sides for holding and leveling patch panels as well. Very ingenious tool, I may sacrifice one of my clamps for that.

How you're doin' Kim?
Any updates on your build? A few little pics of what you're at right now would be very nice, even if you think it isn't interesting... ;) Thank you! |

This is all new to me so it's slow going. Have the cab pretty close to where I'm satisfied with it. Will post a few pics when I get a chance. Kim |

These are after some slick sand a guide coat and sanding the back of the cab.
Still need to sand the fire wall. A couple of low spots on the back to take care of. Kim |

A lot of work in there, Kim.

I thought I had more pics of it. In hindsight I think it would have been a little less work to have the top of the panel start about 1.5 inches higher as there is a slight curve in the area just below the rear window. I'm happy with how it's coming along at this point though. Kim |
Re: My 57 Pro Street
Wait, what'd I miss here, Kim?
Are you building ANOTHER truck or going back through your build for some reason? Or maybe I went back in time and you're building it again for the first time?! Lol. |
