Another 3 axle dump from the era. Rear tires must have been a strange sight back then.

I guess for sand? Dual wheels suck in sand. Who can argue there is something sexy about a tandem dump by any of the Big 3?
At the sawmill up the road, this guy Fast Eddie keeps his dump trucks. He works on them out there year 'round. He's just a simple hard working salt of the earth country boy who runs hand me down trucks. Does the best he can. He's now got two of these International Eagles. I really like this old road warrior. You can tell it was once someone's pride and joy, now Fast Eddie's pride and joy. The artwork must have been done when the truck was new. That's my friend "Jack of Arts", Chuck Gamber's, work. It shows how good the truck once looked |

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Interesting truck. Like the 5 X 3 but surprised it doesn't have Air Brakes. I did a little research and GMC had them as early as 1931 on some models. History says they were first available in some trucks in 1922.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
I'm gonna need to bring a bigger trailer to pick up that beauty. Price is still pretty low, curious to see what it goes for.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
That's a fine piece of GMC Truck history. I'd love to have it, too. I hope some knucklehead doesn't buy iy to hack it into some kind of emasculated play toy. That's ATHS/ATCA material, if not a museum

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Nice truck. Looks like a V-8 Gas by the side emblem.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Most likely it is gas

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful
Some pretty impressive trucks there. I figured that B-77 was pretty rare and a quick research shows that they only made 113 of them.

Perfect example of why modern aerodynamic fiberglass trucks are of no interest to me.

Surely this falls in the Beautiful truck category. Current auction on Bring a Trailer.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-delivery-van/ This 1953 Fageol delivery van was reportedly used as a moving van before being displayed at the Golden Age of Trucking Museum in Middlebury, Connecticut. Following the current owner’s acquisition in 2011, replacement graphics were applied and the truck was subsequently used in promotional exhibits for Charles P. Rogers & Company. It is built on an International Harvester R-series chassis and powered by a gasoline-fueled inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery, it features 20″ steel wheels, a dually rear axle, a cargo compartment, a curb-side cargo door, and rear barn doors. |

Another one from the Bring a Trailer auction site. It's not often you see any trucks there but two at once, too cool! These are awfully rare so if your hankering for one it would seem that now is the time. Not my truck!
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-white-3000-coe/ This 1967 White 3000 is a cab-over-engine model that is powered by a 400ci inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a single-drive rear axle. The electrically tilting cab is finished in red and paired with a black-finished chassis fitted with an adjustable Fontaine fifth wheel. Inside, a split bench seat is accompanied by a Motorola Vita-Tone combination radio/public address system, a Cobra CB radio, a Pioneer head unit, and aftermarket speakers. The truck rides on chrome-finished 22.5″ wheels and is further equipped with rear air brakes, stainless-steel rear fenders, dual vertical exhaust stacks, and air horns. |
