Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
The shop that did my grill and bumper said they can order a paintable "cap" that goes directly over the factory rear bumper.
What you do is remove all the step pads and molding and then the cap slides right over, exactly how those aftermarket front bumper covers work also. It would then be completely smooth and color matched, no step pads, and no molding. Like this one... http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...erCoverBig.jpg |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That's a good look. I have seen those "smoothie" (aka W/T) bumpers before that just have the pads on top, but I'd never seen the paintable cap before. Is it plastic?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That cap would be sweet.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Here's one I saw at a show years ago. This is what I would like to do, but I would rather have a more frenched tag box like a Sir Mike's steel rollpan has.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That looks like it's been shortened/tucked in to the body a little bit. Nice.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Here's the bumper from a friend of mine on another forum. It's the same concept, welding 2 bumpers together and sectioning them and all that, but I think it's a much better looking execution than that first one I posted. He went this route because rollpans are illegal in Hawaii.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That is very nice. I definitely like the plate box better on the second one.

I've made up my mind, I'm going to go with one of these smooth style covers. They're so clean looking. I'm also going to see about re-drilling some bolt holes and move the factory bumper up just slightly. |

Here's the website I was looking at. This one lists them as Urethane. Scroll a little ways down the page... http://sporttruckdirect.com/Street_Scene_Roll_Pans.html |

Could be urethane. Could be fiberglass. Somebody buy one and let us know. |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
 I'm going to get one real soon, so we'll see!
I don't have much experience with urethane or fiberglass parts, so I'm kind of clueless on what is actually better. |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
umm any more pics of the whole truck?
|
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Would definitely like to see more pics of those IROC rims!
What size are they? What are the backspacing on them? What tires did you go with? Thanks! |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Here's my 90 GMC 3500. Not sure of complete plans yet but would like to spray it with black from body line up and white down. Possible air ride if I keep it that long.
