i'm planing to run a w/t rear bumper painted to match my burb.... you can get them new for like $200 or find one at a junk yard (rust and dent free preferably). just a thought...

I bought one of those for my truck and was going to color match before I found a roll pan. I agree that bumpers work better on the yukons.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

The shop that did my grill and bumper said they can order a paintable "cap" that goes directly over the factory rear bumper.
What you do is remove all the step pads and molding and then the cap slides right over, exactly how those aftermarket front bumper covers work also.

It would then be completely smooth and color matched, no step pads, and no molding.

Like this one...

That's a good look. I have seen those "smoothie" (aka W/T) bumpers before that just have the pads on top, but I'd never seen the paintable cap before. Is it plastic?

That cap would be sweet.

Here's one I saw at a show years ago. This is what I would like to do, but I would rather have a more frenched tag box like a Sir Mike's steel rollpan has.

That looks like it's been shortened/tucked in to the body a little bit. Nice.

It's beyond just that. It's been sectioned so it doesn't stick out as far and tucked up closer to the body, but it was made from 2 bumpers welded together to eliminate the recessed area for the license plate the stock bumpers have. Then they welded in the ugly license plate box.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Here's the bumper from a friend of mine on another forum. It's the same concept, welding 2 bumpers together and sectioning them and all that, but I think it's a much better looking execution than that first one I posted. He went this route because rollpans are illegal in Hawaii.

That is very nice. I definitely like the plate box better on the second one.

Yeah I believe the cap is urethane. They are the same exact thing as the aftermarket front bumper covers, but for the rear instead.

That's bad ass looking. I like that a lot.

I've made up my mind, I'm going to go with one of these smooth style covers. They're so clean looking.

I'm also going to see about re-drilling some bolt holes and move the factory bumper up just slightly.

Actually, according to Street Scene's website, they're hand-laid fiberglass.

Hmmm, interesting.

Here's the website I was looking at. This one lists them as Urethane. Scroll a little ways down the page...

Since a majority of Street Scene's body styling parts are urethane I can understand why they could mistakenly list it as such. Without actually having my hands on one to verify, I'm going with what's listed on SS's website.

Could be urethane. Could be fiberglass. Somebody buy one and let us know.

 I'm going to get one real soon, so we'll see!

I don't have much experience with urethane or fiberglass parts, so I'm kind of clueless on what is actually better.

Would definitely like to see more pics of those IROC rims!

What size are they? What are the backspacing on them?

What tires did you go with?

Thanks!

Here's my 90 GMC 3500. Not sure of complete plans yet but would like to spray it with black from body line up and white down. Possible air ride if I keep it that long.
