Ha. Not after cutting the truck in half. I think I have it figured out. Now, if I can only find the time.

I got the rest of the tube in the mail yesterday, so I started on the passenger header. I'm going to tackle the hood mod after the headers are done.

Yes, they're called Columbia River Mandrel Bends. Great stuff, but the "builder kits" leave you with about 1 header and a few left over bends. Not quite enough for a full set.

Ya, I bought their stuff to build my exhaust. Nice!

And the other side tacked up. The good thing about the mock up is you can change it to make it smoother once you get it on the bench. The bend on the number 2 tube is to miss the lower A arm pivot and to go under the starter. The passenger side was a little more difficult because of the starter, but not bad.

Still one of my favorites on hear. I'm looking at buying some wheels for my heap soon, is your rearend the stock width? Would a 4.25" backspacing front, 5" rear backspacing fit your truck? I still have drum brakes in the rear and trying to figure out if the wheels I like are even close to fitting, there isn't a lot of choices in backspacing. Thanks for your incite.

Thanks Cap. They're tacked up and in the truck. I have to get them back out and weld everything up still. Then, I have to figure out if I'm going with Jet Hot coating or what else to do.

Thanks! The rear end on mine is stock width. I have discs on the back so I can't say 100%, but I think it should be the exact same width on the axles. My rims are Cragar Soft 8's, 17X9 with a 5" backspace on the rear and 17X8 with a 4.5" backspace on the front and they fit great. The rear is a little tight getting the wheel on because the "skirted" fender dipping so low, but it works.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

Thanks for the reply, I had it in my head that your back wheels were a 5.5" backspace. I only have two choices in the wheels I'm looking at, 5" and 5.75" so I was having a heck of a time trying to decide which to get.

I forgot to ask if your front A-arms narrowed up the front track width any. If so how much? Thanks again

NICE work on the headers! That stuff isn't easy to do. Very impressed, can't wait to see more!

I'm not sure about the 5.75 backspace. It depends on how much room you have on the inside. Measure twice, maybe three times.

I have the Ride Tech Strong arms up front and I'm not sure if they're narrower than the stock ones. It was my understanding that they're the same length, but I'm not 100%.

Thanks Resto! Welding them up soon and then off to Jett Hott for coating.

I had to modify the lower and upper radiator mounts to get the Entropy radiator in. It's a little wider than stock, more so on the bottom than top. I cut and widened the lower mounts a half inch and welded them back together. The upper mount fit pretty well and didn't need to be widened, but I did sand a little off the backs of the rubber pieces to give it more room since it was a little tight. The upper mount held the radiator out toward the engine too far so I cut a half inch out to make it vertical and give me room for the intake to turn down and miss the fans.

I also got the Holley accessory drive last week and started mocking it up. You can see it in one of the above pics. Very slick and super clean set up. More to come.

The intake didn't come with a throttle cable mount, so I made one out of 1/8" to fit the existing bosses.

Thanks Joe! I'm trying to get this thing back on the road some time in 2016! Happy New Year my friend.

Thanks!

Not a huge progress update, but here's what the engine compartment looks like currently. Everything is mocked up, no internals in the block, nothing torqued down, etc. I just want to make sure I have every piece before building the engine and I'm not chasing parts when I should be shaking it down. My plan is to get the engine built, hook up the engine harness and computer, get it running and broken in, maybe take it out on an old desert road with no traffic and drive it a bit, then blow it apart for paint. I just want to make sure everything is perfect before paint.

I took the headers out to finish weld them up. That's next.
