On the 1972 rear axle there is a bracket for the brake hose that bolts on to the differential cover on the upper right hand quadrant which is why the hose is short. |

Re: 1968
Today i finshed the rear brake rubber brake hose. But, I think it is still a little to short. Brian you said that there was a tab the fits in the bolts for the diff. cover. I think that would be a wise choice to get one. or make one myself. I don't like the way it looks. I
also installed the front turn signal housings. http://i.imgur.com/FlWTW9ll.jpg |
Re: 1968
After the rain, I drilled a 5/16 hole in the rear brake hose brackets on the rear end. Now it looks like a pro did it. I really like the way it came out. Thanks brian.
My head light adjusting screws came in so I installed them. http://i.imgur.com/sv5SlPrl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hiTx4ibl.jpg |

Re: 1968
Still need power steering pump maybe tomorrow. I also bought a use stock auto column in perfect shape. Just need to clean it up and paint it Orange.

Re: 1968
Nice parts George, I bet you are anxious to hear the engine run.

Re: 1968
I am not so sure about the power steering pump. The pully is bent and the bolt, the treads are really bunged up. I don't know If I could cut the bolts off and weld another in it's place or not.
ordered the steering column today. I hope it turns out ok. |

The new parts look nice. Sucks about the power steering pump. I'm sure you'll figure it out

Re: 1968
Yea, it really isn't that much of a loss. This is the first part that I bought a part off the parts board that didn't work for me. I am not really upset over it. Like you said I can still use it as a core charge. So I might even come out ahead anyway. I ordered 120 pcs. set of shrink tubing. Couldn't find or misplaced my soldering gun. I ordered another one from harbor frieght. I am going to order my wiring harness from speedway. They have a special going on and I will take advantage of it. So guys I will start on my wiring maybe in a couple weeks. This is something that I have been trying to get out of. I know I can do it, but just thinking about it it hurts my back. Had a good day today. I did not do nothing again.
Hey setx67 it really is not that big of a deal.(steering pump) I will use it as a core charge |
Re: 1968
New pumps are pretty cheap. I decided to just get a new one. You will figure it out, though. I got faith in you.

Dried some more blasting sand today. need to blast a few small parts. Drive shaft for xeen and some other parts. Nothing done on the old girl today.
|
Re: 1968
Again nothing to do. The auto column is on it's way to me. I got a email saying it will be here this week. I need to start doing something. But, it is so hot outside that when I try, I run for cover. I an hoping to start with the wiring maybe next week. By the Brian thanks for you help with the power steering pump and extra's. They will come in handy I am sure.

Re: 1968
It will maybe cool off soon. My parents left today to stay 3 months in Florida, down near Sarasota. I may try to see them there in late October. Maybe I can stop by and see old Patches, and bring you some parts if you have any coming from up this way.

Re: 1968
Looking good George! Keep those parts coming and lets see some more progress!!
