Easy fix or not so easy.:uhmk:

Re: Daverods project 66

if its the bushing you just need to find something to drive it in there without kinking it but if it something more then im not sure.. ill look at one of my trannys at the shop and see what you pulled out

I had an extra 350 transmission. I just painted it and used it. Got my flex plate bolted on. Installl the TC and mounted the trans to the engine. Need to get my brackets welded on my axle and get my drive line shortened. Scripped one of the threads when I went to put the flex plate on. Sucked. Had to do a helicoil.

Guy at Autozone had one of these. I thought he built it from scratch at first. Looked way cool. It's a kit $150-200. Goes 40 and gets 150 mpg.:metal: Island park and back for $5.

Does the sleeve go on the TC?:uhmk: The TC I used was kinda worn alittle on the shaft. I was wondering if I should get a new one. Hay I gotta start cutting or I'll never get done.

TC torque converter. I was getting lazy. I saw that sleeve when I bought the seal. I thinking I should have got it.:waah: The end of the TC I used was alittle worn. No sharp edges just alittle wavy.;)

Re: Daverods project 66

dont know anything about the exact mounting procedures or if you need to machine the surface for the bushing or just sand it down get it to slide over but i guess that bushing is made from pretty thin material you need to press on there maibe you should ask an trans rebuilder if its a hard job and how to do it

Worked on my drive line. Looks like I need it about 6 3/4 " shorter. Guy said he would do it for $65. Put a new carrier on. Leveled my frame to see how much the line increases and decreases when the axle moves up and down. It was only about a 1" in differance.:uhmk: Bought a sleeve for my torque converter now I just need to see how to get it on.

Got my tabs welded on my axle, used JB weld to seal up the seams on my bed sides. Put some more plates in my bed. Need to get a different yolk for my transmission the one I have has the smaller u joint. Looks like about 4" needed to be cut off the end of the drive line.

Got my drive line cut and balanced. Had to buy a different yoke, switched everything to the bigger u joint size. Installed new carrier bearing. :uhmk: Welded up the bolt holes where the chains attached on my bedsides. Sanded down my roof on the 64 skimcoated it, shot it with some feather fill and painted it. Maybe do the back of the cab next weekend.

White house, white concrete ,you get the idea.:waah: When I do have energy I waste it improving my wake boarding skills.
