I'd do the Cragars. I'm also not a fan of the super slammed trucks, I like a nice "hot rod" stance, and I'm 43! Not much pavement here either, gravel and rocks mostly.

Some of the streets here aren't in that great condition, and I would tear up the suspension. That's where the air bags come in.

I talked to the people in charge. They said that since your going to be spending all your time working on your bike project and not on your truck it would be ok to post some picture of the bobber/copper thing? I forgot the name. I did watch the show though. I'm starting to see the light.:uhmk: Cafe racer. I'm thinking I'm a bobber guy.

My son is building a Bobber for a customer. He will paint black over this, and sand threw it to look patina. Crazy huh?

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

Working on a compressor so I can sell it to make more money for the truck. I have no room to work. Need to clean things up, and get rid of stuff. My 60 gal main compressor took a crap. The bearing in motor seized up and wore a grove in the shaft. I had to go buy another compressor. This time I got a much better one. This one is a 80 gal, with a lot more CFM. My sand blaster and grinder work bit chen now. What a PITA it was to install. It must weight over 400 lbs

hmmm should be able to get some other motor from somewhere and sell the 60 gallon pump again , its usually the compressor that takes a dump

daverod 01-07-2011 07:08 PM

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

Did they tell you the 80 was a two stage.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

It's a 1 stage motor. Big difference on performance. It's a 4. Cylinder pump and has 16 cfm at 90lbs. Both my sand blast cabinet & sand blaster have never worked better.:metal:

That replacement motor would be expencive, and I would still have the same crappy compressor

i was thinking more in terms of a used engine to sell it on , theres allways someone who will be happy to get his hands on a good (enough) used compressor

I got the same one. The guy at Lowes said it was a 2 stage. I could'nt have afforded the 2 stage aways. I'm happy with it. I had to pick mine up about 2
feet and stuff it in it's hole.:sumo: I paid 799 minus 10% military discount.=720 Lowes does'nt advertise it but they give a 10% to all vets.

I'm far from being there. But if I chose the Cragers it would be harder to find rear 16" big tires. The Centerlines are all 15". It would be easy to find a 275/60X15.The fronts would be a 225/60X15. I might just keep the Centerlines, and have them polished.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

The Centerlines mite look pretty good with your cap idea.:metal:

I thought that BFG made some big 16's; like a 285/60?? I have a 255/60/15in front of my 'burb with bags.....you can get a lot of meat under there if you want.

My old one was 11 years old. Wish I didn't have to spend the money, but it was well worth it. :metal:

I could cut it in half and use it to water my goats. You pay to ship it up here and I'll put it to good use. Maybe Paul has a better idea. A air tank for his S-10?
